Employees were rude and completely lacked customer service. Contactless checkout was nonexistent and employees made every excuse for why nothing was handled correctly. I arrived at 955 for a 10am reservation and did not leave the lot until 1040. I paid for an hour of movers while i waited for a truck to be brought around from the back. None of this was streamlined or contactless. I was yelled at by employees, truck was brought around and left running and the employee walked right by me and did not bother to mention that it was mine. I only found out it was mine when another employee walked up behind me and yelled at me. She then threatened to not rent the truck to me when I had already done the online ageeement. no staff, came back at 7 and walked in. told me they were closed and i had to return the truck by phone. rude costumer service. another client wanted to get his stuff out of storage and they denied him because they could not move something in the way. I booked a truck from 3:30 to 730 and they told me i needed to be back by 7pm. price was more than advertised. also when booking there is no statement of needing to refill gas. will not use this location again. i waited 30 min before someone talked to me and got the keys for my reservation.matt K.

Called to check a unit. For next day onsite inspection. Employee said he would hold unit. Next day I called to remind employee and say I will be right in. To get unit discussed I arrived to find unit being given to different customer. It was only unit of that size. The reservation I made was not available so I had to pay for a one way service that cost double and I did not get the car transport I reserved so I settled for a car dolly. Work on the customer service with all staff members. The guy I worked with directly was great (I can't remember his name) however Ryan who was there was looking for a hitch for a customer at any other auto parts store he could find. Meanwhile 2 customers walked in me being one and he did not acknowledge either of us. I waited 25 mins for someone to become available without being acknowledged once. The other customer ask if we should come back and Ryan's response was you can flag one of the other workers down outside but I am with a customer.Alicia W.

My only "complaint" would be that the right-rear blinker wasn't working when I picked up the van. That said, this sort of thing happens. The staff was super friendly, and the person that received the van back from me said that he'd jump right on the blinker and get it replaced. There was a bit of confusion about the "self pickup". The truck wasn't out front so I needed to get the help of an employee who had to "get the truck from out back". It also turned out that there was a customer vehicle blocking the employee's access so we had to wait for that customer to finish removing their belongings from a storage unit before the employee could get the truck out to me. Overall it was about a 45 minute delay which caused me to miss an appointment at my destination. Not a huge deal but, it was a bummer that the self check in and go system didn't work.Kristafer V.

Person who unhooked the trailer was not at all friendly or helpful after the trailer was disconnected. I had to move another trailer that had been dropped off by a previous customer so I could leave the facility. One of the employees stood and watched me move it.Craig P.

You have a monopoly on the box truck and trailer rental so you are the only option when needing to move something so your store owners don't care about customer service on about their corporate bookings/ one way rentals. The location I picked up from was fine but that's not where I booked the trailer and I had to drive an extra two hours around the portland metro area to get the trailer. Why couldn't the original branch look at their reservations for the day and see that they didn't have the trailer for me and call me to let me know to go to another office? If I see the fucking retard owner from your Hillsboro store in public I'll fucking knock his lights out. I asked him how he was going to make the situation right and he said he wasn't. I drive an hour round trip to use this location because they have always been great. So that 2 hours to pickup & another to return. Dustin was probably in a bad mood from the customer before me. I could hear him getting upset with the man he was working with. He was incredibly rude to me and did not help me at all. I told him I was using a Ford vehicle and he said he couldn't find it. It is a extremely common commercial vehicle. Anyone working with vehicles should know it that isn't brand new to working with vehicle's. He ended up telling me "This conversation is over" and I said," Wow? " Then got up to leave. I asked him for his name and he reluctantly said," Dustin ". I went outside and reserved the trailer easily. And it was also easy to find the type of Ford I was using..... That just made me think even more he was intentionally targeting me for whatever reason. I went back inside and talked to the other employee Chris. I mentioned what had transgressed with Dustin and he told me he had over heard the conversation between Dustin and I. Anyway he got me my reservation and I was still quite bothered by the whole thing I was focused on damage while doing my walk around. I didn't notice until I got to the place I was loading up for the move that they gave me a trailer with grease in it and a white spot where someone had spilled white paint. They even left a painting stirring stick. It took multiple hours on the phone with customer support and in the end in not even sure they got all the photos I tried to send. So now I'm worried they'll try t charge me for a dirty trailer that they should have never sent out in that condition....Moses G.

I had booked a 24/7 reservation and when i arrived to pick up my truck and due the moble check in, i found my truck was not ready. after taking to the call center i was told that i would have to speak to someone at the sight, well whaiting for the store to open, one of the employees came out and said that they do not open tell 9. i stated the issue i was having and his responce was " that Sucks", "we open and 9am" and the perseaded to walk away.Michael K.

I've been going to this U-Haul for years. It's declining. Can't get good help. It was chaos trying to pick up the equipment.KRISTEN F.
Newer 26' truck with 40,000 miles had electrical or possibly mechanical issues 500 miles into a 3000 mile trip. Air conditioning, cruise control, and traction device all failed. I was renter and my son was the driver. Roadside assistance offered to fix but there was a time constraint and my son didn't want to lose time waiting for repair. He drove both nights all night to deal with 90's temperatures cross country in late June. He made it in 46 hours and we returned it early. Gresham manager was very accommodating and adjusted price to salve discomfort.Darius B.

Both locations were great, but customer service on uhaul line was rude and non-helpful. I waited over an hour outside drop off location waiting for customer service as my drop off location had been changed automatically without my consent. Instead of apologizing to the customer for all the inconvenience, the customer service representative said it would be my fault if I dropped it off at the original location signed with my contract and I'll be charged extra. She wasn't sure if drop off can be changed, but said â€œshe will seeâ€. Was not apologetic at all for all this inconvenience, rather blaming this incident to a customer which I thought was very rude/disrespectful especially when I am 38 weeks pregnant and was doing everything as instructed for after hours return truck to my agreed drop off location but was not working due to uhaul changing my drop off location. Again without consent, notification of any kind. Left this experience very frustrating to deal with especially with the representative who was not at all understanding of the situation.Pema K.

The location and hours were fine. The only reason I had to leave was because there was a rodent infestation in my unit. It appeared that mice came in through two different holes in the unit and left urine and feces all over, as well as a few dead mice. I know for certain I did not have any perishable items that would cause this issue. It was all furniture and appliances. I would not recommend this location for your storage needs, I basically paid to have my items pooped on- gross! Just a suggestion but perhaps rent a larger and or multiple dumpsters and charge $10 or $20/month for those who wish to rent them or flat charge everyone like $5/month. You would most likely Make Money this way while eliminating the current issue of being dbl charged for over flowing dumpsters. That same plan outline would work for electricity use and or access to even if only on a monthy basis. Sometimes the only spare time I have to get something out, in, or clean my storage unit is after dark and having had both an inside and outside unit I would have Gladly Paid to rent electricity so I could plug ina light to see wth I'm doing. Second time I have dealt with the person checking us in. Abrupt and not flexible.. Showed us what we needed to know. When asked about the free lock, because it says on the website multiple times - free lock with a rental. He could not handle the customer service and said, No! That is not how we do it here. When we got to the unit. There was a lock inside. He scooped it up. I said again. The website says there is a lock included. Again. He said no. We do not give out locks. I do have a question about the security. I was told it was great security but twice I have gone to the storage unit and the entrance gate is wide open and then when I got to the door to enter my section of storage I didn’t have to scan my card because the door was open both times. I didn’t feel very secure. Uhaul was not helpful when I lost my lock keys and offered no help and offered no solution other than call a locksmith. Locksmith was gonna cost more than the 165 I paid a month. Luckily we found a way to cut it off. No thanks to uhaul. So instead of continuing with uhaul I emptied and left. Only positive thing was the refund. I rented the space in the morning and returned with a small utility trailer full of belongings. The outside doors to the indoor storage spaces were open and unlocked, not secure. The space I rented was not the size advertised. Supposed to be 5’x10’ and was actually 3.5’x10’ with a raised area across the 10’ width of half of the total space of the floor looking like a bench, which greatly minimized the floor space. In addition, when we opened the door to the space, a large piece of ceiling sheetrock fell down from the ceiling, barely missing my head. Again, a large open space in the ceiling, not secure. Not acceptable. Also, there were steep stairs to the second floor, no elevator, which was very inconvenient. There were no other units available so we ended up taking our trailer full of stuff to Public Storage facility. Luckily we found a space at the last minute and we were able to move our load into that space that evening. The staff are all great and manager Cody is wonderful. He really helped me with an early appointment to have a hitch installed on my Highlander. And, I rented the storage, with the first month free. I appreciate everything they did to help and they were super busy but took the time to fully assist all their customers. Our area is under various levels of evacuation orders due to wildfires and we are all trying to safeguard at least some of our precious belongings. Cody and the staff are working extra hard to help people and I don’t think that the condition of their storage adequately reflects their good works. The storage facility seems to be in poor condition and needs renovation including an elevator so that it meets ADA building standards for public access.Elizabeth E. | First Impressions

We had a 400 mile move to make, equipment was selected online with no problem, felt comfortable selecting insurance and roadside assistance a sit was very affordable. The equipment performed perfectly and was a good ride and fun to drive. The assistance at the distant end was amazing considering it was a Saturday and everyone was checking equipment in and out. I got a storage unit that was perfect for was we needed, however, the access is limited to daytime hours as the door was not set up for the card access. The facility is super clean and well maintained. Most of the staff are helpful and work so hard. The reason they wouldn't get 5 stars is because the reservation system is not functional. I reserved one large and one medium unit a month before or 1000 mile cross border move. When I called to verify a week before the move, they had no record of my reservation even though I had been given a number. So I reserved again and to my dismay we were contacted during the 40 hour trip to say thre was no large unit. Both times I was left to feel I had done something wrong, though I had talked to multiple people and left a credit card number. We had to reschedule our movers and fortunately we had been given extra days in Canada on our 26' truck. I'd like to commend the managers and staff at this U-Haul location for the way they've responded during this Covid-19 pandemic. They've been gentle and understanding to those of us that have lost our sources of income and are unable to pay our storage dues. I stayed in contact and gave them updates on my situation and each time my news was met with kindness. Staff was friendly and helpful. Negatives were I had several things stolen from my indoor unit. Several fishing poles and a clam gun. Total was about $600. A gap exists in adjacent units where the rollup door is at the front of the unit. The stolen items were all in reach to steal. Filing a complaint with corporate was denied.
