The engine cover was not replaced properly, not latched and not sealed. The wire insulation that was stripped of the wires was in the floor of the van. The brake unit was mounted upside down and quit working. The wire that connected to the negative post of the battery was stretched across the top of the engine and pulled out of the ring connector. The installer called me and asked if he could drill into the hitch. I said no mount it to the bumper. He did but put it on the left outboard end of the bumper! This was a terrible experience getting a hitch installed on my SUV. The installers did not seem to know what they were doing. 3 different times they came into the waiting area to ask me questions that were on the form that I had to fill out when I placed the order for the hitch installation. What year is my truck? What model is my truck? The third time was when he said he couldn't get the truck to start and wanted to know if I knew what was wrong. I went out there and it was dead. He did not recall that the battery was disconnected because he was doing the wiring. Almost 4 hours later I get in the truck and realize that the bed liner was missing, my items in the back of the truck were missing. Then I got an error message on the truck that Parking Assist was not working and service was required. I made an appointment with Volvo for this morning and they found 3 items wrong with the installation. First, parking assist was not working because the cables were not reconnected. Next was that when the installer tried to remove the bumper he did it by trying to separate the bumper into 2 sections and broke the clips on the bumper. 3rd was the cut that was made for the hitch assembly. There is a template on the bumper where to cut and this was not done, it was torn plastic and therefore not a smooth fit. I took pictures of all of this when the Volvo mechanic brought me into the repair shop to show me what was wrong. These repairs and corrections cost me almost $400 today, on top of the $530 I spent last week on the hitch installation. And now based on this poor work done I'm scared to actually hook up a trailer and try to haul it!Cindi R.

They took $800.00 from me to unload my rental van under the rouse of $200.00/per hr. It took the guys 2hrs. and they did not refund my $600 The facility was dirty and locked up early. The store wasn't opened when we arrived because the manager showed up very late. Also, the manager couldn't find keys to the truck we needed, so he tried to give us a larger truck. However, my items would move too much in the truck and gas would be too expensive, therefore, he made a separate key. The person who got us the trailer, "Cash", was on his phone and didn't help us hook up the trailer to the truck. I have pictures and will post them on Google reviews. He asked my boyfriend, "Have you ever did this before? Let me show you." Then proceeded to point out what my boyfriend had to do. My boyfriend's hands were so dirty that he had to wash them inside the store. I didn't appreciate "Cash" not helping and being on his phone instead.Jasmine L.
I had an awful experience. Not only did I receive no communication prior to my reservation, I had to call several times and speak with several people in order to confirm that I had to pick up at a place almost 10 miles out of my way. And to top it off, they charged me for 30 extra miles. I just ate that expense than rather have to deal with these people another time. I will do whatever I can to never use U-haul again.Andrew R.

The drop off location scheduled for me was at country store on Baetline rd. In Long Beach , MS. Was closed at 2:15 pm Tuesday afternoon had to take the trailer to the pass road store to drop off to avoid a. $20.00 after hours drop off charge. Something should be done about no one at the U haul location that is not maned during regular business hours. This was a scheduled drop off location look at my contract this is totally unacceptable. The store on pass road in Gulfport ms. Was very nice and curious and could not understand why the country store on beating rd in Long Beach ms was unoccupied to receive the rental trailer. And the appearance of security at long Beach location please look in to this I'm sure I'm not the only one that this has happened to.Perry B.

I ordered a 15' truck online Sept 9 for 9/24 to move items for a charity event. I arrived at the location and had to wait over 30 minutes; mobile app would not work for check in, then found out that there was NO truck! Had to settle for a smaller truck. When I tried to checkout via the mobile app that same evening around midnight, could not; mobile app still not working. Tried to checkout via mobile app the following morning from my home, could not because the app was asking me to verify the checkout location via qr code scan! I have always used UHAUL to help move items for my annual dance recital, which is in 2 months. I am not sure about using this service again. I can't afford to NOT have a truck ready to go when I ordered it!Toinette R.

My ubox was broken into. My belongings were broken, stolen, thrown around. You can improve your security. If the ubox was broken into in GA then when it arrived in Mississippi, the staff should have noticed it when they did their inspection of the box when it arrived in Mississippi. Because of the lack of security, I have to go through the process of filing a claim. I will never trust or use uhaul for any storage needs. So very disappointed. I opened the ubox and just stood there and cried. I trusted uhaul, never again.Sheila S.

the message I received to pick up the truck was at a facility that is closed on Tuesdays. I had to have another Uhaul rep call to find out where I could pick up the truck, sent us over 9 miles from home, and that rep. had no supplies, was then sent to the Gulfport hub to pick up the appliance Dollie, which for some reason was not reserved as I was led to believe it would be. This caused a lot of running around for me costing me valuable time in getting the truck loaded and on the road to WI. I was not happy with all the run around. Uhaul needs to do better with the information texted to the customer on what is where on the date reserved. Also, there needs to be a way to eliminate a reserved item when needs change prior to pick up. I had reserved a car hauler which I ended up not needing and there was no way I could find on the website check out to delete it. YOU NEED TO DO BETTER!!!! In the future I will be calling a Uhaul representative directly and NOT using the internet reservation.Jane O.

When I made my reservation for a 1st floor climate controlled 1,200 square foot storage, I knew that is what I was getting. When I checked in at the facility they gave me a 2nd Floor climate controlled small storage room and I am on a time schedule nothing else was open on a Sunday so I had to settle but I have no where else to put my other stuff because it would not fit in the storage they gave me. I have 3 units but had to cancel this one. staff always eager to help but the hall was too narrow to fit the sofa. I would have moved stuff from my other units but it wouildnt have fit in those either. Its not a huge couch so I don't understand this. I know Cheyann tried very hard to make it work. Dana and her Assistant was very helpful getting things reversed. They made it quick and easy and I was grateful. online is very convenient but took two days having to re enter constantly over and over til finally went thru. if it does that because someone has it reserved, please just say "you can try later" but having to keep entering info over and over was frustrating. The storage unit available was on the second floor which was also split level making it a 2.5 level with stairs and a ramp only to load and unload items. No elevator available. The facility was not climate controlled and it was extremely sweltering hot while moving items in and out. I found a dead rat in my unit upon moving out. All of my belongings smelled like a dead rat in my car. I have to air out and clean my belongings before placing inside my home. There was a large cut out hole in the wall in the unit observed when moving in. I tried to cover it with a suitcase but I guess that didn’t help. 2 rat traps were also in the unit. I rented this unit not knowing that there was not an elevator to help me get my things up to the second floor. I had no way to carry all of my things up the stairs by myself, and therefore this storage unit was useless to me and I never even used it to store any of my stuff. The facility was not what I expected from my previous experience with a different Uhaul storage facility in Hawaii. It wasn’t as clean as I expected it to be and there is a very musty smell that concerns me will transfer to the fabric of the sofa, and will also be absorbed by the wood in the table and dresser. They also did not have the size that I had actually reserved online. I ended up with a smaller unit, and although the movers made it work for a sofa, dresser (standing upright), and round dining table (laying on its side), it is not ideal and will make it difficult getting things out without strong movers to do so when it’s time to vacate. It also doesn’t leave very much space for boxes. The other inconvenience is that there is no elevator. The furniture needed to be carried up the stairs, then up ramps to get to the unit on the second floor. Unfortunately, with the timing I had no other option as I couldn’t keep the movers running around to different facilities or units. If I had known these things I would have looked for something better and closer to Bay St Louis or Picayune. Although every other place that I made inquiries with only had very big units which were too big for what I needed stored. What I had reserved was an 8x8 unit and that would have been perfect. What I ended up with was a 6x6 unit. On another note, I was impressed with the selection of packing supplies for sale at the facility.Kalena C. | First Impressions

So I had some problems with the paper work and calculations which could have been explained , but after the tenth time it was not . I was told to call the manager so I did . When I called the manager and explained it to her she basically told me I woke her up out her sleep and when I asked can I stop by tomorrow and resolve this what time will she be in she told me again I woke her up out her sleep in she was in a fog and did not know ! On the card that was giving to me it did not say what time to call the (manager) which I think was unprofessional and poor on management as well !!! I must say Travis helped me get in the unit which took about 20 minutes because it wasent working and he to had to keep calling inside for help so it just was not me !!!!! I appreciate Travis !!
