Location Spencer St Manchester CT One of the worst experiences of my life. Lady had a bad attitude & was not at all helpful. I couldn't understand a lot of what she said & there were problems getting out of the building. I used this location 4-5 years ago & didn't have any of the problems I encountered last night. I didn't know I had to give exact mileage to my destination, & when she asked I just threw out 20 miles knowing full well I'd be returning the vehicle in an hour. I didn't know till I was back in the lot for 45mins trying to return the vehicle that I would be charged additionally for anything over. So this $19.95 rental ended up costing me almost $50.!!! I just traveled 11 miles on the meter and I put a gallon of gas in the tank 2 miles before come in to da drop off to same location, when after park over there land is not leveled and meter suddenly went down and they charged me a 11 dollar extra just for gasChamaka K.

I rented on Thursday and cancelled my rental on Saturday morning and was told that even though I had moved nothing into the rental and had taken a temporary lock from the manager that I would still be charged for the month. The lady there was very friendly and explained things extremely well. The only issue was the U-haul van fuel level didn't seem to be functioning correctly. The truck started with the fuel noticeably below "full" when it supposed to be full. When I refueled the van, the gas pump kept stopping before it fueled completely. Was charged like $10 by U-Haul for not fueling it to the top, which is fine, but the van definitely has refueling issues.CHRISTOPHER H.

The woman named Maria was very nice but very rough around the edges. I am 100 disabled and took what she said to me to heart. Sometimes it's the way you say things that can really hurt someone's feelings. First my lyft driver dropped me In the wrong spot so l had to walk to actually where l had to pick up the truck. I couldn't breathe. When l got where the office was opened with Maria she said oh the truck is rented for 1030am and now it's 930pm. Then she had me sign the paperwork and she said oh someone is renting the truck after you so make sure your on time. I had a anxiety attack because of her harsh words. Yes l am sentimental and when l got home l had another anxiety attack again. Besides that the price was great and l can't complain . Thank you for renting the truck to me. I will be renting again on February 3,2022 but a different location. I really don't like how she treated me.LORI R.

I had a really poor experience with U-Haul. I had to move from Nashville to Boston and rented a ten foot truck. The location I originally selected in nashville to pick up the truck got changed to another location in nashville. This wouldn’t be a huge deal for a lot of people but i could only pick up the truck after office hours at night and the location that I picked is much safer (well lit, location, etc) compared to the location U-Haul changed it to. When I went to go pick up the truck it was dark out and the parking lot was super dark and there were four or five lingering men hanging out around the truck. I wasn’t safe. Then, I had to do the online check in to actually get the truck and the U-Haul website And the app were not working. I was out there by myself in the dark for thirty minutes waiting for the site to work as Im trying to not draw any attention to myself. But Im an alone woman in a parking lot so of course it got the mens attention. I was worried about my safety. Not okay. Eventually I get the truck and make the drive to Boston. I reserved a storage unit when I booked my truck and had a reservation number for the storage unit. I get to U-Haul storage And they say I don’t have a reservation. I pull up my reservation confirmation And the number and they say it’s not a reservation. Oh….my bad….I thought me paying $200 for storage and the email header of “your storage unit is reserved” means I had a storage unit. Also- when I go to drop off my truck the app and website (you guessed it!) werenot working again. I’m a 27 year old who knows how to operate technology. I don’t know how anyone in my parents generation would be able to trouble shoot this if they were in my shoes with the truck rental. your online systems absolutely suck. I won’t use U-Haul again and won’t recommend it. That stinks for you guys because all my friends are moving! Definitely not worth the $800 I spent…especially when my safety was threatened.Jennifer S. | First Impressions

Fix your truck!! What could've taken me less than 4 hours took me 8 hours! Due to your truck turning off multiple times and having me call my mechanic brother to find out the alternator is the problem! The van was great except for the low pressure sensors in the back tires being on constantly from pick up and they stayed on even after topping off the air. I returned the vehicle later than anticipated and incurred additional charges which I expected. However, the staff at this location was unable to explain the bill and additional charges to me upon checkout which was very frustrating. After questioning the bill and spending additional time in the office I gave up and called the corporate office for clarification. This was my first time renting a U-Haul. Manager at front desk wasn't friendly. Acted like my rental checkin process was a hassle to her. Didn't offer to come out to review the van and show me anything.. Return after hours was very difficult. When I got the van it was behind a locked gate but when I returned it that gate wouldn't open so I parked in the lot next to the rental office. I was worried though that this might be wrong but I had no one to ask. Plus the there was no signage about where to park the van after hours. The process to return through the web didn't work through my phone, camera wouldn't activate so then I downloaded the app and followed the long list of steps and instructions. Then I had such a hard time locking all the vans doors. The auto lock sound happened but not all doors would lock so I had to individually go around and use the key on each door. Maybe if staff had given me a tutorial at the beginning I wouldn't have struggled. Anyway not a great checkin or return but the van served it's purpose. Probably will choose Enterprise next time.Abbie B.

Over all good place to rent a storage unit. The thing that is missing is the access to the dumpster. I was not allowed to put any of my broken down cardboard boxes and swept up items after move out into the dumpster. So I was left to cart it out myself.John M B. | Overall Experience

One of the problems with U-Haul they want you to buy their lock and early leads me to believe the locks they want you to buy they have a key for I put my own lock on and put their lock on my lock that way I know nobody’s going in there but me I also didn’t like that when I went to my storage unit which was once every 2 to 3 months that their card when I swiped it to open the gate would never work it seemed like an ongoing problem Other than that I would use them again in an emergency for storage but you have Everything you need for moving The good thing about U-Haul it’s a safe and secure place.WAYNE L. | Overall Experience
