They called me after I returned the truck, after hours, wanting to know if I was going to return the truck. When I rented the truck, it seemed the person checking out the truck expected me to know the process and was somewhat abrupt with me, almost rude.

Pickup agent was really helpful. What should be mentioned when you pickup a U-Haul is that they get 3.5 miles a gallon. This would help folks understand a bit better to prepare at return. I understand the high fuel cost to gas up if not brought back same as it left. But I drove 29 miles and was charged for 8.3 gals. Seems to me your trucks need some work if they get that kind of mileage. Also - I submitted a claim and got a call back from mgr. when I wasn't able to return the call the same day - I received a fairly snarky email in response. She referred to the comment I made to the guy at return that I was ‘too tired to leave and gas up'. As I had just had to leave my home in less than 2 hours due to a domestic violence situation, yes I was tired. I've used U-Haul many times in my life and this is the first time I feel that you failed at customer service.

I reserved a self-serve pick up for a moving truck online. When I tried to pick up the truck, I received an error message saying that I needed to go talk to the front desk which defeated the purpose of the self serve pick up. When I went inside, no one was in there and I had to wait for help (while a I had family waiting outside to help me empty my storage unit). The woman at the counter gave me attitude and was rude and said that they switched my truck and tried to call me and left me a message. I checked my phone and said I saw a missed call from an unknown number but I did not receive a voicemail. She said your voicemail was full. However my voicemail was not full. She said well you need to wait for us to get another truck ready for you. I said I already signed into the truck I originally had reserved. She got upset and said well now I have to give you that truck because you signed into it, and handed me the key. The dolly I ordered was not inside(she brought me one). This is the second time that I have had a bad encounter with this woman as she couldn't find my storage reservation a few months prior when I had moved my stuff to storage. They forgot the extra equipment I had ordered, and never once said sorry...just chewed out her husband (or whom ever the gentleman was she was working with who she treated like a husband). This place is bad business. Moving is stressful enough, the employees at U-Hual shouldn't make it more difficult. My items were also very weathered after being in the storage unit after only a couple of months, and there was a layer of dust/dirt/ash all over my things. I also don't think they should get away with charging a full month of storage when we moved out on the 6th of the month. That is terrible!!

Wasn't a bad experience but wasn't the best. Equipment wise was great everything was in top notch state, coming to customer service, I was told be back by 5pm and I would have help returning the vehicle. I pull in at exactly 5 pm and I see a person peek out the window and just shut the lights off. I honestly felt like I was being avoided. I know they closed at 5 but the lady said I would be good to go. All in all, Great vehicles, Average-subpar customer service.

The fuel sensor was wrong, the moment it got to 1/4 tank it started to act like it was out of fuel, and it was. I barely made it to a gas station and it was sputtering and cutting out when the low fuel light came on.

Don't let customers book items you can't provide when using the app. Booked a 20' truck, received a call at 5pm the 15hrs before my reservation that a 20' wasn't available and only had 17'. Then when I get there, the furniture cart wasn't available even though it was on my reservation. The rep told me just to let them know when I returned the truck that they didn't have the furniture cart available so I could be refunded my $7.

Having the ability to fill out the renter app on line saved me at least half an hour. Time is money. I rented a trailer and the entire in and out was 20 minutes which included hookup. Very personable. Easy pickup and easy speedy drop-off. thank you for your service

I get the policy regarding extra mileage charges however I was pretty disappointed I received a $1.69 for miles overage seems rather petty. It certainly will make me shop around next time I'm in need of a moving company and recommendations.

No shortcomings. Check out was reasonably quick. I was on my way in less than 20 minutes. Return is real slick. Attendant was there quickly and performed his duties efficiently.

I called the store several times on Saturday to extend use of the trailer by one day and possibly return at a different location. It appeared I was directed to a national phone center after waiting for a total of 30 minutes. The extension of the rental was easy, but to charge double the one-way rate and an additional fee for a wrong place return is a bit ridiculous.

When I returned the trailer the clerk was busy inside and there was another customer waiting to buy natural gas. I had been waiting for about 15 minutes and while I was waiting, customers started arriving and there were 5 or 6 customers waiting. the U-HAUL worker told me, "I will get to you when I get a chance." I responded, "What do you mean when I get a chance?" I was not going to wait while he served other customers that had arrived after me. I expected to be waited next and I was. U-Haul may be going through problems as all other businesses are going through but there is enough business to put more than one person per location!

The worker who unhooked my trailer did not wear a mask, not did it look like they had one with them. I know it was outside, but at least attempting to have a mask would have been nice

When I brought back the 10 foot truck I was told that I was "a little low on fuel". I don't understand that at all. Then I was told by the employee "I can split the difference". I went 20 miles in the truck very little of it stop and go. I was told when I got the truck "it was a little over half a tank and now it's a little below a half a tank". If I went 20 miles and let's just say the truck got 10MPG that's 2 gallons. I was charged over $12 for gas. You will have to explain this hap hazard way of computing this.

The people were nice and worked as fast as this virus allows, however my Wife is 76 and I'm 65. We planned for a one day move. We rented a 20 Ft truck and appliance dolly. When we put weight on the dolly you could not move the wheels! IT was hard to push without anything on it. Our move turned into two days as we had to acquire another dolly. We were outside of town or we would have returned it for another dolly. Knowing how bad this dolly rolled makes wonder how we found this out and the Service tech at U-Haul did not! This should not have been rented in this condition. To make matters worse when we made the inside lady and the outside tech aware and was told we would be refunded the dolly rental. I get home and read my Email. The emailed receipt showed the dolly was still being charged. I have to call back and talk to someone who doesn't know a thing about this problem. I was told I would see a revised billing. I have still not seen one! My Wife and I are not too amused by this to say the least.

Got charged an extra day's rate for being less than an hour late (van day rental, scheduled for 6 hours, got back in just under 7 hours). They were swamped when I returned and said they'd email me once they checked gas and miles and what not with my final payment amount. I checked and saw they added an extra day. A bit harsh.

First, stop the practice of entering a rental only to wait for a call from an agent at the last minute to be informed that the closest location is 75 miles away - it worked out that I save money on the rental, but not worth the stress. Better signage on returns that someone will check you and get you on your way.

The General Manager Nxxk is an absolute embarrassment to the U-haul name. I can't believe they employ such an A-hole who thinks he is better than everyone cause he is the general manager. Nxxk is also a liar and won't admit to his mistakes. Before he was there U-haul was 100% the best in town. Now with employees like him i would rather sell all my stuff instead of dealing with him ever again. So sad U-haul has given a title to a non-deserving lieing no good person. My brother also rented a truck and before i told him my issues he stated did you deal with a big guy that is the general manager Nxxk? I said yes why? He said that guy is a real a-hole. So that tells you his charecter. I will never use U-haul again as long as they have that guy around and makesure everyone i know doesn't either.

Since I work 8am to 5pm in Toppenish, and live in Union Gap I set aside weekends to utilize my storage unit there were times it was a hasssle to meet the 5pm closure.

My only complaint is the access hours. 7pm is too early. 9pm would be very convenient. Having an employee on the grounds looking at cameras or whatever til 9 ! It would be a selling point. Thank You!
