They called me after I returned the truck, after hours, wanting to know if I was going to return the truck. When I rented the truck, it seemed the person checking out the truck expected me to know the process and was somewhat abrupt with me, almost rude.

Pickup agent was really helpful. What should be mentioned when you pickup a U-Haul is that they get 3.5 miles a gallon. This would help folks understand a bit better to prepare at return. I understand the high fuel cost to gas up if not brought back same as it left. But I drove 29 miles and was charged for 8.3 gals. Seems to me your trucks need some work if they get that kind of mileage. Also - I submitted a claim and got a call back from mgr. when I wasn't able to return the call the same day - I received a fairly snarky email in response. She referred to the comment I made to the guy at return that I was ‘too tired to leave and gas up'. As I had just had to leave my home in less than 2 hours due to a domestic violence situation, yes I was tired. I've used U-Haul many times in my life and this is the first time I feel that you failed at customer service.

The interior of the truck was not clean.


I reserved a self-serve pick up for a moving truck online. When I tried to pick up the truck, I received an error message saying that I needed to go talk to the front desk which defeated the purpose of the self serve pick up. When I went inside, no one was in there and I had to wait for help (while a I had family waiting outside to help me empty my storage unit). The woman at the counter gave me attitude and was rude and said that they switched my truck and tried to call me and left me a message. I checked my phone and said I saw a missed call from an unknown number but I did not receive a voicemail. She said your voicemail was full. However my voicemail was not full. She said well you need to wait for us to get another truck ready for you. I said I already signed into the truck I originally had reserved. She got upset and said well now I have to give you that truck because you signed into it, and handed me the key. The dolly I ordered was not inside(she brought me one). This is the second time that I have had a bad encounter with this woman as she couldn't find my storage reservation a few months prior when I had moved my stuff to storage. They forgot the extra equipment I had ordered, and never once said sorry...just chewed out her husband (or whom ever the gentleman was she was working with who she treated like a husband). This place is bad business. Moving is stressful enough, the employees at U-Hual shouldn't make it more difficult. My items were also very weathered after being in the storage unit after only a couple of months, and there was a layer of dust/dirt/ash all over my things. I also don't think they should get away with charging a full month of storage when we moved out on the 6th of the month. That is terrible!!

They charge a cleaning fee for taking the boxes now. However, there is no sign that says they don't take the boxes anymore. Such a scam


Wasn't a bad experience but wasn't the best. Equipment wise was great everything was in top notch state, coming to customer service, I was told be back by 5pm and I would have help returning the vehicle. I pull in at exactly 5 pm and I see a person peek out the window and just shut the lights off. I honestly felt like I was being avoided. I know they closed at 5 but the lady said I would be good to go. All in all, Great vehicles, Average-subpar customer service.

The fuel sensor was wrong, the moment it got to 1/4 tank it started to act like it was out of fuel, and it was. I barely made it to a gas station and it was sputtering and cutting out when the low fuel light came on.


All employees that I dealt with were professional and helpful. Store is always clean, and great rental trucks and supplies. Thank you Yakima Uhaul on 1st Street.

Don't let customers book items you can't provide when using the app. Booked a 20' truck, received a call at 5pm the 15hrs before my reservation that a 20' wasn't available and only had 17'. Then when I get there, the furniture cart wasn't available even though it was on my reservation. The rep told me just to let them know when I returned the truck that they didn't have the furniture cart available so I could be refunded my $7.

Having the ability to fill out the renter app on line saved me at least half an hour. Time is money. I rented a trailer and the entire in and out was 20 minutes which included hookup. Very personable. Easy pickup and easy speedy drop-off. thank you for your service


Very professional staff and friendly they had my truck running and ready to go when I got there very nice truck and very clean


I get the policy regarding extra mileage charges however I was pretty disappointed I received a $1.69 for miles overage seems rather petty. It certainly will make me shop around next time I'm in need of a moving company and recommendations.
