Water damage to both units damaged almost all our family’s belongings and covered everything in mold so we are having to discard or remediate every thing. I cannot describe the damage this has caused to my family. Please do not rent A002 and A003 to other customers. The wine unit next door to A002 leaks into the unit. I booked the truck for 24hours. Got all the confirmations about the location when I went up to pick up the truck I was forced to change it to 6 hours or else they will not give me the truck and will transfer my reservation to a different location. The guy renting was very nice. He even gave us a tour of the wine locker and showed us to our unit. The customer service was excellent and the unit he chose for me was very convenient. There was a rat poison box inside my new unit. The temperature is not cool enough. I do not understand why I have to log into a property at the non-existent front gate before driving to my building where I have to log in again to access the elevator but not log out. The inventory was not reflective of what was in the store. While what I needed was there, it was not showing for the sales person therefore I had to order online while already in store. In addition the plastic bins were not clean and after I asked for them to be cleaned they were only blown with air which frankly isn't enough during a pandemic. I booked for a mobile pick up which doesn't function at the location this wasted 2hrs only for them to open and have no connection. after going to a very sketchy public storage to view a unit, Alex made us feel very welcomed and safe. He mentioned all the amenities that this facility offers. THIS BUSINESS ON VOSS AT WESTHEIMER RENTED ME A DOLLY FOR $7. YOLANDA DID NOT ASK TO UPDATE MY INFORMATION, BUT SHE TOOK MY CREDIT CARD AS DEPOSIT. THIS MORNING I WAS TRAVELING BACK TO THE VOSS STORE, AND FOUND OUT THAT THEY CALLED MY SON TO ASK IF I WAS RETURNING the dolly. I questioned Yolanda and the 2nd employee, she did not put my phone number in the system, and they argued with me over and over that "this number was in the U-Haul system ( turns out that we rented something about 2 - 1/2 years ago, so they assumed that number was current) The 2 never apologized, never admitted their mistake but were continually defensive.BRYANT H.

The lanes were so narrow with no room to turn around and with U haul trucks randomly parked on back fence I hard an almost impossible time getting out and around the building in my even 15’ rented U haul truck and had to back up entirely around the building. I also witnessed others having problems. There was no parking up front even to get into office. The gate didn’t close and the card system was totally ineffective and I watched many set off alarm exiting which only conditioned people to accept that. This location is organized & efficient compared to others I've rented vehicles from. Pickup & drop-off were hassle free. It helped that I was able to do so much online prior to pickup. On July 16, 2020 I received a phone call from an associate working at this facility named Abby. She informed me shoe does not normally work there and is from U-Haul Store 74628. She called to inform me that our unit was no longer secured by a lock. Our lock was missing and the door was open approximately 4-6" of the way. She closed it all the way and secured it with a company lock and red tag lock. Abby informed she has put all of these notes into our file as well. She informed me that a manager was not available and she is not an employee of that location and cannot do anything other than escalate it to higher managerial authorities. Unless we have determined otherwise, we are suspecting this is an unlawful break-in. We had no employees or trusted associates in Texas since March 9th. We have not had anyone access the storage unit since the move in day, which was me personally. I have requested a formal review of the camera systems and a police report to be filed for this. Our associates were in town on July 19th and moved out of our storage unit. On July 17, 2020 Justin Howard took photographs of the contents and they were additionally inspected by an associate we had travel last minute to perform the inspection. At first glance it appears none of our equipment was disturbed or stolen. This will take some time to determine as we have several hundred serialized pieces of training equipment in the unit. Until a comprehensive inventory is complete, we cannot rule out any malicious activity. I was informed that the alarm was not set off either. All of the indications point to non-criminal activity, but the camera footage and the inventory will be the two final pieces of information to complete this event. No-one has been able to help me. I have contacted U-Haul several times over weeks with no success.Timo T. | Overall Experience
