The pickup process was a mess. My pickup location was changed twice. I chose to pick up the truck in Kennewick. I was then told to get it in Pasco on Court street which was about 30 minutes away from where I needed the truck. At least the Court street location was a U-Haul center with the supplies I needed. The pickup location was then changed to the location on A street. This location was not a U-Haul center but a run down liquor store that also sells drug paraphernalia posing as a convenience store which was located in the worst part of town. Instead of being served by a U-Haul person, I had to call someone working from home. This was a horrible experience. They sent me a link to load a picture of my drivers license. Fortunately my daughter was with me and knew how to do it because I had absolutely no idea how to do that. The whole time we were wondering if this was legitimate or not. This was a horrible experience that took over half an hour at least. I don’t understand why I couldn’t get the truck at a real U-Haul location. So after this inconvenience I had to go back to the real U- Haul center to pick up the supplies I needed. Having to get the truck in Pasco instead of Kennewick not only cost about an hour and a half of time I could have used for packing and loading, I got charged for excess mileage. I think that this is a ripoff that I was forced to get the truck at a location half an hour away resulting in extra mileage. The inside of the truck and windshield were dirty also. I don’t understand why I was asked to choose a pickup location that was convenient only to be forced to go to a place that was over half an hour away and not a U-Haul center then charge me for excess miles. If the goal is to make me never use U-Haul trucks again, it was very successful. Extremely disappointing experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Extremely disappointed with this experience.
