The location had a rate and system that was different from the app as far as dropping off the truck when done but the Lady at the desk was very understanding and transparent when helping me.

JUAN LNo instructions verbal or written instructions were given for the van I rented. I asked the owner how to turn the radio from FM to AM he said he didn’t know. The owner didn’t disclose that if one door is unlocked; then all of the doors are unlocked and the doors must be manually locked before leaving. If not, anyone can simply open one of the doors and remove personal items. The insurance he insists renters purchase doesn’t cover stolen items from the vehicle. Traffic was very heavy when I was in route to return the van. I spoke with the owner and let him know. Despite my best efforts I did arrived at 3:07 pm. After checking the vehicle I asked him if the gas level and van was satisfactory. He said yes but was going to charge me a $50.00 late return fee. I was not given a receipt indicating the total amount I was charged. I will contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau on Monday to see if this practice is legal.
JANICE WI was charged for a wrong drop off location yet Uhaul instructed me to drop it off to a different location. I am highly disappointed!

MICHAEL OThey told me to use the self-return QR code option but did not mention the $20 after hours fee. I specifically asked if I should use the QR code option even if the store was still open when I returned the vehicle. They said yes but never mentioned the fee or offered to help with the return when I completed the rental. I emailed asking to refund the afterhours fee, as the van was not returned after hours. I would not have used the QR code return only to pay extra especially because the store was still open. Still waiting to hear back on the refund.

DANIEL YStaff was friendly and helpful. Exterior of truck was very dirty, looked like it had been parked under a pine tree with needles and sap covering it. Interior was clean. Gas was supposed to be at 1/4, it was on E and I was worried we wouldn't make it to the has station. But we did and left it with nearly 3/4 of a tank. Perhaps we should charge you $8 a gallon for the extra gas that's a $1 cheaper than you were going to charge us.

Frank MYou should not make customers complete their check-in beforehand, claiming that that saves time, only to then make them repeat the whole check-in process when collecting their vehicle. This not only does not save time, it actually increases time…and frustration. That is what happened on my rental

anna mThere were obvious splotch marks on the floor of the van, and various issues with the outside as well - and the app to take photos is incredibly frustrating. You can only take a single photo of the entire side! So I couldn’t add that a mirror was broken. So annoying. Then despite reporting it as unclean when I picked it up, they charged me for cleaning!!! I had to put in a complaint to get that rectified.

John KOverall rental service went great, did have trouble checking out the rental on the online checkout. Had to cancel the reservation and have the store rep rebook in person. Wish the operating hours were longer than 4pm. The sales rep was gracious today allowing me to return the rental by 5pm instead. The return was a breeze so love that. Very convenient and easy.

Johannes HI can’t remember the name of the gentleman who helped me on Sat 2/17, but he was an absolute pleasure to work with! Please put a sign indicating the drop box for the key return. It took me forever to find, as it’s just a tiny cut out slit in a barred window.
Jacinta CU-Haul scheduled me for an 8AM pick-up, though this location didn't open until 9AM and mobile check-in (thru the app) was not accessing my reservation. During that hour of waiting in the parking lot, it became unclear as to whether a vehicle was going to be made available to me at this location. In trying to understand my options, I spoke with several people in U-Haul Customer Service and in the Scheduling Dept. Most of them were helpful & friendly, though one of the Scheduling regional managers that I spoke with grew frustrated at my questions. She advised me to go to an alternate location bkz a vehicle was not assigned to me at this location & when I continued to ask her questions about this, she hung up on me.
Mutlu BThe online checkout is not fun. Most people are exhausted after renting and returning their vehicles. So I would reconsider the process being too long, laborious, and tedious. Online is probably okay for 60%, but older renters are looking for the more hands-on checkout (especially when one is returning during work hours). Instructing the customer to do it online vs giving them a choice would have been a MUCH WISER if not smarter CHOICE if you really wanted to improve your experience to above 4.0. BTW, I gave a 4 stars because of the availability of the truck at such late notice.

BENJAMIN BWas bit of strange and not very customer service that I could not leave my personal vehicle for a couple hours in the parking lot to use the rental vehicle. Service rep at counter justified it as needing to keep the parking lot clear for the Uhaul rentals which doesn't make sense since the uhauls can move in out of the lot and not be impeded by parked cars. Usually a parking lot is designed to fit the parked cars and also allow for vehicles (cars/trucks/vans) to pass through. Or maybe this branch location wasn't intended or best suited to be operating rental moving vehicles but that shouldn't conflict with cars parking in a lot with parking spaces.

Eliza SI dropped off the vehicle 2 hours early and the representative said I would receive an email receipt within 30 minutes. I didn’t receive the receipt as promised and I called the next morning. U-haul told me the vehicle was never checked in and because the u-haul location wasn’t yet open, they were unable to confirm the vehicle had indeed been returned. I called the location when they opened and was told the person I left the keys with “must have gotten busy and forgot to check the vehicle in.” She was unable to confirm the vehicle had been returned because they were moving vehicles around but I would receive an email confirmation within 30 minutes. I asked to have the manager (“Med”) call me, but he never did. I ultimately received confirmation later that morning. The service at this location is terrible, very unprofessional.
Kevin DFront staff was not helpful, communicative, or detailed. Gave us equipment and just told us to drop off keys upon returning. Did not communicate that we needed to fill out any online forms. Later find that we are charged a late fee when we only had the vehicle for 2 hours. Called to speak to manager, front staff said manager was not in and that he would give us a call back but we never received one. Called back again and was told the same thing. I just can't trust this location.
Jeanette VHire better employee the customer service is bad the employee act like you are bothering them when you ask them to help you out. This has to be the worst u-haul I've ever been in and to top it of there no parking you have to park at a meter and it's only a two hr parking that means if your move goes over you screwed.
