I have a confirmation email that guaranteed me a 15' ft truck. I even called to double check after originally making a reservation for a 10' ft truck for fear of not having all of our belongings fitting in the 10' ft. I was NOT notified until THE DAY OF our move that our truck was not available. I received a call at 7:45 am on 10/30/2020.... 2 hours before my pick up time; that my truck was not available. I was then told that I would receive a call from a uhaul customer service representative. I received no call, I had to show up at the original location I had my rental from, and they had to reach out on my behalf to “figure out what happened.” After almost an hour I was told that “There are no 15' ft trucks in the Los Angeles Area, and that my only other option was to travel to pick up a 10' ft Truck... 2 hours in the OPPOSITE direction. When I already had a 10' ft originally scheduled, but I lost my reservation for a “guaranteed” 15' ft. Before I left the location that I was suppose to get my truck from; I was told I would receive another call from a uhaul customer service representative letting me know if they even had a 10' ft truck available. So I drove home waited almost 2 hours and never received a call. The only reason I was informed on my updated truck rental was because I called customer service to find out what was happening. We had to; last minute get rid of our dining table, living room furniture, and a bed frame. This was by far the WORST experience. Had we been told originally that there were no 15' ft trucks it would have been a different experience. The fact that we were “guaranteed” a larger vehicle and then not made aware until the day of is infuriating. We were prepared to get rid of furniture until that; but because we were told otherwise we were thankful that we could cancel our plans of getting rid of our furniture. There is so much miscommunication between customer service uhaul representatives and actual employees that work on site. I would NEVER recommend your company to anyone, this was incredibly unprofessional and poorly handled.

Would suggest a lock box for key drop off

The cab of the truck was so dirty we had to scrub the seats before we could load the truck. There was gum on the passenger seat and trash in the cab. The brakes were going out and the tire in the rear was bald. None of which we figured out until we were on the road.

If you live in the valley center ca area. I had to drive 35 min away to this place because uhaul could not find me a 15ft truck in oceanside, escondido, or san marcos
