My Uhaul paperwork sent me to another location where I had my first Uber expense. Then they told me to go to the location on NW Quimby. Where I had my second Uber expense. This is totally unacceptable but I was 1100 miles from home so I had no choice.

Our experience was excellent once again. The gentleman who helped us for the second time (forgot his name- wish I could give him credit by name) always goes out of his way to make sure we’re happy with the service / rental. Thanks guys! The quimby street location is amazing!

The gentlemen managing the facilty was professional, courteous and efficient. My after hours return was a bit difficult because U-Haul couldn't detect my location via my cell phone. I had to call U-Haul which made the return more complicated and time consuming.

I returned the truck the SAME DAY. I was charged for THREE DAYS. I called to complain and was told that the clerk who worked with me would call me back. That was 2 or 3 days ago ... and still no call back. I'll be filing a dispute with my credit card company. Just not OK.

The desk agent was super helpful! I don’t recall his name but he handled a busy line gracefully, including having me start online check-in to save time—and then taking over when I was waiting for online check-in to approve my driver’s license. Really, really good service.

The online system allowed me to book a return after location hours, even though there is posted signage for no after-hours returns. The following day, when I returned the truck, the person there told me that there actually is a policy for after-hours returns, despite the signage. All very confusing, misleading, and inconvenient.

The customer service was excellent! The truck was ready for pick up as booked. The location is easy to get to. The interior of the cab could have been cleaned out and the entire experience would have deserved 5 stars. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend or family.

Worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Young man, Ben I assuming his name is based on the other reviews, was incredibly rude and condescending. I came in to dispute $90 worth of charges that I was surprised to see on my contract, was immediately told "before you start yelling at me, we get these complaints all the time..." and was given the Uhaul customer service number and shooed away. I will never recommend Vans Towing to anyone looking for a Uhaul rental, or ever return to rent from them again myself. Thank you BEN for the very rude customer service, piss-poor attitude, and the panic attack that ensued on my way home from the way you treated me. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN! AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!

We picked up before hours. The mobile process was simple but the lock box is so old and rusted, it took quite a while to get it unlocked. 10 minutes of tinkering with it before it worked.

Every time I rent Uhaul trucks, they are usually dirty inside. A way a customer can feel comfortable is by driving a clean truck. CLEAN THEM UP!!!!

I tried to return some unused packing items per U-Haul's "100% buy back guarantee" and had major issues getting them to honor it. I had to call national and they called the regional who talked the local through it, but only after I indicated I would contact the Consumer Protection division. You should honor your commitments or not make them.

My experience changed before my pickup due to the NE Broadway location only giving me a 1 hour notice to their location not having my van. I made my reservation 2 weeks in advance and received no contact from their employees. They did not give us a 48hr notice that is expected. Everything was unorganized. The disclosure online mentions a guarantee of $50. We called them, after having to move our own reservation to another location because they did not move it like they said they would. The gentlemen at the NW Quimby location was swamped but still provided great service. When we called the UHaul about the $50 guarantee, they tried to find loop holes to no end. I am expecting a phone call back in 2-5 business days. I will keep calling if I do not hear back.

Nothing glamorous about the location or vehicles, but you get a truck to do your business and the location is ideal if you're in NW Portland. The folks working there have always been friendly and helpful.... I can say it's the best customer service of any truck rental place I've been.

I will NEVER use U-Haul again. Over priced, noisy truck which was impossible to start —- the steering wheel lock was defective; there were many times when I could not get the engine to turn on — times when I felt concern the key might break off in the ignition. The whole experience was awful. Never again.

This was an unmanned return site. It took over a half hour to login and process the return. Being under a freeway, cell reception was very poor. Other customers were having the similar issues with their returns as I was processing our return. Will never use Vans site again. The UHaul office near Nicoli and Highway 30 in NW Portland was far superior! Will add a negative Yelp review of the return site.

I was not told what the return process would look like in detail. The employee said go to the website and then drop off the key, but did not say that I had to take pictures. This ended up being very inconvenient for me.

I was amazed how clean, orderly and professional this location's office looked. I've rented several times at this location over the years, and Binh Nguyen is doing a great job cleaning up what used to look like a dump. It was refreshing to see such a young man own his job and set the bar high for customer service. He's a keeper!

The gentleman who checked me in was quite helpful, but my issue is the $47.10 gas charge, when I checked the van out with under a quarter of a tank of gas, only drove about 6 miles total, stopped at Chevron and had a couple gallons put in. Given the short distance, I find it unlikely that I used up that much gas. So, the additional $17 and the extra $30 on top of that seems excessive and unacceptable.

We almost wrecked because of 2 completely bald tires in central California... one that exploded sending us out of control across all lanes. NO DECENT U-Haul dealership would of sent a customer out on the road with NOT checking the tires and equipment on their truck. You absolutely put ours and others lives in danger. I will NEVER USE YOU AGAIN!!!! You are absolutely terrible.

They property was a mess and had old cars stored in the lot. The guy who helped me was extremely helpful however, the trailer I was renting didn't have an extension for the electrical connection so he had to go to another location to find one.

Information on rental via call to reserve truck at several locations for a one way services, was lacking. I was never told only a few locations handle"one way", so when you reserve a truck inform customers "local only" service, and direct to locations that handle "one way"!

The only thing I wonder about is the "Rental Tax" of $22.41 added to our $131.85 bill. Really? Is this a city, country, state or federal tax? I'd like to know where this is going. Seems steep.

Felt like I was charged more than should have been. But I appreciate that they let me keep it longer however $40 seemed like a log for a little extra time. I’ll probably go with something else next time because of how much things ended up being.

I ordered insurance he didn’t put it on when I returned the next day to get it he called his boss and said I didn’t want insurance and now changed his mind. So he said I need to return trailer to get it, total lie. Then he couldn’t give a contract because his computer was down. The list goes on. Terrible customer experience

The u-haul web site was down creating over an hour wait to get the truck while the desk crew at Vann's tried valiantly to get contracts created without the computer. When i returned the truck later in the day the site was still down. Lots of unhappy people waiting for trucks on Saturday morning. Get a better site!

It was super busy when we went to pick up our truck, but the reps were so friendly and personable, I didn’t even notice the wait. They even helped me laugh at the fact that I forgot my wallet and my partner had to show his license and use his credit card. I really had a great experience.

The people were very helpful and courteous. However, the location/condition of this site was the worst I have ever seen. It i directly under the I-405 overpass in Portland, a pretty bad part of town. The size of the site is too small for the inventory. There was barely enough room to drive through the chain-link gate and back up to the trailer. Then I needed help backing out of the same fence back onto the street. Also, I needed to drive 20 minutes (each way) to another U-Haul location to have the ball reversed on the hitch. I don't understand why every site that rents trailers shouldn't be able to have the tools to do this. In the end, it took 90 minutes from when I first arrived until I was able to drive the trailer off the lot.

Despite attempting to return the vehicle prior to this location closing (3pm on Sunday when working hours are 9-5), the gate was closed. There was no instruction on where to leave the vehicle and the phone was not in order so spent 30 minutes calling UHaul and trying to figure out how to return the vehicle.

So I’m really frustrated because I reserved a 15’ truck for 5:30 and it routes me to a different location and was confirmed via email. When I showed up at the broadway location they had me in their system but explained they didn’t have a 15’ truck. I looked at my email and the app and their system had conflicting info on where to pick it up. The app told me the quimby location but ALL my emails showed me to pick up at the broadway location. I showed the clerk and he says this happens a lot. It set us back almost an hour and I want to bring this up because uhaul needs to be aware that their emails and app pickup information does not line up. The location was closed but luckily I could do the after hour pickup. Please fix this as it was not a great experience. No issues with any of the workers they were all helpful.

This location was under a bridge with no parking or area large enough to easily pick up trailers. When we returned the trailer, the location was closed with a sign on the gate that said 'Out to lunch, be back soon'. The employee arrived from lunch in a uhaul truck. She then had me move the trailer by hand to an available spot since the parking area was soooooo full and tight that backing it in was not an option. I literally had to move the trailer myself before she would check me out. A joke. Will not use this location again.

I am a cripple and my friend helped move me. When he arrived at the place, I told him I have my credit card on reservation and you just need to pick up the truck.. That is not waht happened, he was told give me your credit card or you can't have the truck, rather than argue, he gave his card. HE WAS CHARGED TO MOVE ME. I am trying to have my card charged and the manager is going to return tomorrow. I do not know the outcome.
