Express check-in was abysmal. Took almost one hour to get checked in. Arrived at reserved time, took pictures as directed and then was asked to take a picture of address and street where I was renting, then asked if I had a friend they could call to verify, what I have no idea. By now another person was in line in the office so waited my turn and had to enter info in again and wouldn't take the CC I used on line. So in at 8:30, out about 9:20 and they call it express. All this after I had went thru the express on line process. Next time it's a competitor for my rental. Too bad been using Uhaul since 1970's.

When I picked up the U-Haul, and he was putting it on my hitch, he did not have the rubber stoppers for the hooks and I tried to tell him that the chain needed to be crisscrossed over because it was so low it was dragging so he used some heavy duty bread rapper when I picked up the U-Haul, and he was putting it on my hitch, he did not have the rubber stoppers for the hooks and I tried to tell him that the chain needed to be crossed crossed over because it was so low is dragging so he used some heavy duty bread ties? The app on the phone is garbage. The check-in process basically doesn’t work. You basically have to wait in line and have them do it again. The attendant seemed confused and complained about management making him do this and that and reasons why he got bad reviews. If someone needs more drama in their life I highly recommend going here.

The rep was nice, but he seemed to pressure me about buying the insurance $10 coverage, although I said I have insurance three times. And the outside of the van was very dirty. It took us about ten minutes to clean the windows, before I could go. He needs a bucket of soapy water handy to clean the windows as they come in, or at least for customers instead of trying to slowly clean with a spray bottle. Also, the van constantly said "needs oil change" on the odometer, so I could not monitor the mileage. Moreover, the advertisement said $19.95 plus .69 a mile. What is this tax, environmental fee, and license recovery fee?! Please refund immediately. Those are extra charges not advertised. False advertising. Advertise appropriately: not falsely. Thanks.

The location on nw 15th and Quimby is be far the most unprofessional business I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with. I had a 1:00pm reservation for a pickup truck, showed up 10 minutes early only to find no one on the premises. I called the phone number provided 3 times and it went to voicemail. I called Uhaul customer service who then called the employees of that location and even they couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. They then called the route manager who also attempted to call the employees there and they got no answer as well. All the while there was another customer besides me waiting to pick up a truck as well and also had no idea what was going on. I waited around for 45 minutes after my pickup time was scheduled and received absolutely no call or help from anyone at this location whatsoever. By that time uhaul customer service attempted to find me a truck at a different location but by the time one was available it was too late for me to be able to use it putting me a full day behind schedule. The place is also a total mess. There's junk littered all over the place and honestly looks like a total dump, I guess that should've been my clue. Finally an employee from that location contacted me an hour and 40 minutes past my reservation only to flat out lie to me about the contact info I gave them saying I gave them the wrong phone number which is impossible because my phone number was used by customer service to pull up my contract with no problem. He then lied further by saying that he sent an email with the pick up info on it, which he absolutely did not. Needless to say I will NEVER go back there and will tell everyone I know to never go there either. Uhaul customer service did end up making it right once it was taken out of the very incompetent and unprofessional hands of the Quimby location. I ended up going to the one on NE Broadway and they were just great. How the location on Quimby is allowed to continue to operate is beyond me, but hopefully they'll be gone soon before they can screw over someone else. If it was possible to give them zero stars that's actually how I'd rate them.

I'm shocked that this location is still being supported by Uhaul. The service was appalling, the reviews are poor. While I was waiting for to pickup my DIRTY vehicle, I overheard the 1 employee talking on speakerphone where 2 customers on 2 separate phone calls complained they were being overcharged. The contract stated that the vehicle had 1/4 fuel, but it actually had closer to 1/8 of a tank of fuel. The employee told me that he would credit me when I returned the truck. I return the truck the next day and they have 1 employee again. I had to wait 50 minutes in their unheated, dirty trailer to return my Uhaul. When I asked for my credit, he told me that I misunderstood him and he can't give me a credit. Uhaul owes me for that extra gasoline that I purchased. I don't think I will ever use Uhaul again.

I rented a 10’ truck on Saturday 9/30 from U-Haul on Quimby st. to move from downtown Portland, 97201 to Milwaukee, 97222. I specified on the website that I would be dropping off the truck at the Milwaukie location at the above zip code and it didn=E2=80=99t prompt any restrictions or fees to that input, when I picked up the truck from the U-Haul on Quimby, the representative did NOT let us know (there were two of us and we can both attest to that) that this was a two way rental, he estimated the number of miles to be driven based on the two way distance between the two homes, and that was only because we (myself and my friend) were having second thoughts about coming back to downtown to pick up her car, nonetheless we EXPLICITLY said that we would be dropping the truck off at another location and we did not hear any objection to that. The next morning I arrived at the U-Haul location on SE 82Nd in Milwaukee and they told me that per the contract I couldn’t drop it off at their location without incurring heavy fees, and so I had to drive it all the way back to the Quimby location which resulted in doubling the miles I had driven. When we confronted the representative on Quimby that he never told us that this wasn’t a one way rental, he claimed that he did tell us even though the both of us were there and know that he did not and then made up some explanation about how the key tag attached was one for two way rentals which, again, he never told us. I expect a refund for at least half the amount of miles due to this error on your part, I also have pictures documenting the odometer that are geotagged and have time stamps.

The truck was perfect! Was gassed up and ready to go! They even let us pick it up early! Very easy to work with! Would highly recommend this uhaul location. Easy to get in and out of even though it was in busy downtown Portland.
