Horrible rental. The front bumper cover came off before I'd driven a block. Several miles later, the engine malfunctioned and it became undrivable. I parked it at the rental location and was scolded by the agent the next morning. I reported my issues to 1800 UHAUL but still have not received any resolution. Very disappointing experience.

This is an update from an entry a week or so ago about an overcharge on a cargo van. I don't even see my original post. I'm not surprised since it was scathing about an overcharge. At least I think it was but no one from U-Haul will talk to me. Apparently a manager called me but I didn't answer so he went ahead and certified my charges. He supposedly called on 2/11/2021 which was a Thursday, a work day, when I'm unable to answer my phone every time it rings. He left no message or callback number, or the name of a person to talk to so I couldn't get back to him. He was just going through the motions with no real concern about whether my problem was correctly addressed or not. In other words, U-Haul management doesn't care about their customers as long as they get their money. So I'm another dissatisfied U-Haul customer who will discourage others by word of mouth from using U-Haul services. If U-Haul is alright with that I'm fine with it.but it's not good business practice. I am again requesting that a caring representative from U-Haul call me or contact me via email and explain why the cargo van cost me so much more than I was quoted. Leave me a callback number and name of someone I can talk to if I am unable to answer the phone. That is not too much to ask as a customer to a business. Just explain my charges is all I ask. It doesn't have to be so difficult but they won't communicate.

The gentleman working at the counter was not very helpful. This was my first time renting a U-haul. I did the self rent. When returning my U-haul I went in to ask where to park the truck because the lot was very busy, there was three other trucks in the lot. He told me I was a self rent and I should have just returned it to the street where I picked it up. The instructions I read told me to park it in the lot. He then called me within a few minutes of leaving asking me where I had put the keys. I let him know I had them in the lock box as directed. He seemed irritated with me and said I should have just left them in the truck and now he would have to ‘walk all the way to the lock box to get the key.' I will never rent from that location again. He definitely needs to work on his guest service!

Easier way for pick up after hours i had to reschedule my pick up for next day when pick up location was open and when dropping back off we swept back out but drop off location said we didn't sweep out cuz of some dust he wanted us to mop it out so charged us 25.00 for cleaning fee.

The uhaul experience in itself was fine, the owner of the premises was courteous and professional, but the location was a complete dump. Inside the store there was trash and junk lying everywhere. I even saw sitting on the shelf a half glass of what looked like coca cola, but it looked like it had sat there for months, disgusting!! When i booked my uhaul i had asked for another location in my town as I had used Voss rentals a few years back for an equipment rental. Back then I said i wouldnt use them again because the place is unhygienic and dirty, well its gotten far worse. Maybe a Uhaul representative should go look at the premises and see for yourselves. Do you really want customers entering property like this, especially during a pandemic.

Hours to drop off was ridiculous. Unloading a 3bdr house was not able to accommodate the 4 hrs they were open after losing almost 5 hrs to get equipment and back to where we needed to load. Had to call the customer service line to be instructed where to park the truck and trailer as they were not open when we got there and place is completely fenced in and no way to leave it safely. Then I was trying to ge Charged an additional $40 for it being 30 min late trying to make the 11am drop off to do the online check in. I had to call customer service instead to have it checked in.

Man that was working the counter was rude from the moment I walked in the door. I was interrupting his day! I even asked him a number of times if he would rather I go get a truck somewhere else! Was rude the whole transaction! Remembering why I hadn't been there in years!!

The truck and supplies were fine. The location for pickup was ok. It would have been nicer to have been able to pick up the truck closer to home but there seems to be not many trucks to go around in the area. The cost for a 15 foot rental for 24 hours being almost $500 is an absolutely ridiculous amount of money in my opinion. My problem was have to drive an extra 2 hours to get the truck adding mileage that we ended up paying extra money for because there wasn't a closer location available.

Check equipment before it goes out. Lights, tires, damage and etc. When reservation has been made and it's the only one from my town to where I'm going and back 287 miles there and back. Ask if you have the right receiver before you get there. Worst experience I have ever had with u haul

Having the truck available at the time I reserved it for. The reservation was for 8 am and didn't get the truck until almost 10:45am. Lost about 4 hours total of packing and had to pay rent an extra day. Completely unprofessional for them not to be in the office to check the vehicle out. I should get a discount reimbursed back since it cost me a day of rent.

The building is full of old used food and drink containers just thrown in several piles on the floor throughout the building. Couldn't walk behind counter if you wanted to and it was piled full of nasty trash. The guy that owns it was sleeping when I got there, took him at least 20 minutes to start to check me in. Told him about trailer I rented not pulling right and he blew me off. Health department should close that building down. Yes it's that nasty

The guy is very professional and informs customers well. The cleanliness of the rental place definitely was not the best. Piles of stuff everywhere, ceiling tiles falling out of the ceiling, smell of mildew from a leaky roof.

Was overcharged like I always am when I rent a U-Haul, You take a customers debit card and charge what you want, After this happened to me twice I'll be renting from Budget, or Hertz, I would rather leave my things behind then renting a U-Haul, Dishonest company U-Haul is! I'm thinking the Better Business Bureau needs to investigate the way U Haul does business!

The owner of this UHaul has a bit of an "edge" to him. I have rented about 3-4 times now from him and he has always been this way. For example, when I brought the 9' Cargo Van back with 10-15 minutes to spare, I told him that all I needed to do was get my stuff out of it and do a quick cleaning of the inside. I was informed by the owner that I couldn't clean the van on his property. He said that I would have to remove the van from his property to clean it because once the van is on his property, he charges a $25.00 cleaning fee. I thought this was rather odd---and extremely picky. Since I only had a short time until the rental time limit was up, I quickly went outside, get my stuff out, and did a very quick tidying of the inside of the van. The van only had about 500 miles on it and it was already super clean. I just wasn't sure how fussy he was going to be. There were no further problems or issues. I was not charged with a cleaning fee.

I did not appreciate reserving a vehicle online, getting a confirmation and then upon arrival being told when I got to this location that they didn't have what I rented and I would be upcharged for a larger vehicle!!!! This is my first experience with U-Haul and I've never seen anything like it. I will be pursuing other options next time.

I got charged for a whole extra day even though i drooped the truck off before the location closed but he didnt check it in until the next day, also had a dolly and bag of furniture blankets THAT I DID NOT WANT OR USE in the truck that i couldnt take out without getting charged for and i actually think i got charged for 2 days use of the dolly when there was no seal on it when i picked up the truck, had to take truck back to this location even though i had a location in the town i lived in so i got charged mileage for that and extra gas cost between the rental truck and personal vehicle

Place is not take care of he ripped me off of $426 and change in charges I am not sure I'll rent from Uhaul again after this experience I have used Uhaul for 40 years plus to make my moves. I have called Uhaul and a representative on this whole mess!! Waiting for thier answer on the situation.
