U-Haul (van) was well maintained but the outside was so dirty I could barely see through the windows.

RANDALL STruck drove rough and broke down on me. I was stranded on the interstate for 2 hours waiting on a tow and then had to call a ride after the tow arrived to pick me up to get to my vehicle because the driver had to get another truck to tow the uhaul.
William PParking lot was covered in ice, I know the weather is beyond the control of the pickup location but there was no effort to melt the ice. The padlock on the key box was frozen and the code could not be entered. keeping these locks well lubricated with oil or WD40 would have stopped this. Fortunately I had a screwdriver that I used to turn the letters and open the lock. When I finally got the key, the truck was unlocked. The back doors were not even closed. The truck had trash (potato chips, lottery cards) in the cup holders and in the door. The passenger side door was damaged and allowed cold air to enter the truck. The truck had a strong smell of smoke. The vehicle was otherwise mechanically sound and drove well. When returning the vehicle the office was locked despite being before their posted closing time. Someone opened the door and asked what I wanted. They did not want to check the vehicle in so I used the app to make sure I had photo proof of the condition of the vehicle. I have never had an experience like this with other U-Haul rentals. I used this location for convenience based on my trip but in future I will find another location.
Brian KWe did not receive the dolly and blankets we were promised. My movers had to wait 45 minutes while I went to pick them up somewhere else. We set this up on 12/6 at another location and they didn't have a truck. When the reservation was set up here, it was changed, and we had to bring the truck back from Grove City to Hilliard. Which of course we were charged for the extra mileage we used because of the reservation person's mistake. However, the person at this site on return of the truck did take off some charges due to the troubles we had. Not due to this site, but because of the overall problems we had with the site, uhaul has lost a customer for life.

TIFFANY DDropped off a trailer, went in and told the person I was dropping off a trailer from Cincinnati. Looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Said just park it next to trailers. I did and when I was finished he came out, got in his jeep and left. So I just left!

JONATHAN GI was pleased with both locations I used but not with the overall uHaul experience. I paid $2000 for a uhaul for a move taking me 3 states from home, and booked my equipment several weeks in advance. I believe at least 2 maybe 3 or so. I got a call the day before telling me that in order to get any truck at all I was going to have to drive almost an hour away from my home to pick it up. I get there, and they have a truck for me, but only have half the requested furniture blankets and neither of the types of dolleys I requested. They gave me a different dolley instead, but it was an appliance dolley and we weren't moving any appliances and it barely worked for what we needed it for. I didn't have to pay for what I didn't get, but when planning a move of this size and magnitude you would think that if you order something it will be there for you when paying several thousand dollars. Also, I requested to pick up from a uhaul store 10 minutes from my house. I have a hard time believing that the closest pickup available was almost an hour away from an area the size of williamsburg and james city county. When you're dealing with your last few days in town and everything is planned out in minute detail as to what needs to get accomplished and when, this kind of disruption with almost an extra 2 hours of driving was disasterous to the plans we had made already.

Christopher MThe customer service was amazing. Unfortunately, the truck I rented was not. The seat belt is broken and hard to get buckled. The gear shift did not allow me to place the truck in park, it kept sticking. The brakes are questionable, and the power steering is horrible. The A/C system is terrible, it does not blow air. The inside of the truck is dirty and the driver side mirror is broken. Please repair or replace this truck, it is a disaster and a safety hazard.

ABDISALAM BFix the right blinker on the truck. Set the key locks lower so that we could easily see them. Better instructions on the key lock. The app is overly cluttered and initially it tried to charge me for gas when at least as the needle looked, it was returned after matching up the gas. Plus we got there before 5 but it was a week day that they close at 1pm, so I had to use remote /app to take the truck.

ROGER SThis location and staff are wonderful. The office was closed when I needed to pickup the vehicle. The app was an awful experience. It was 100 degrees and I had to wait over 10 minutes to be approved to rent while standing on hot asphalt in full sun. Once I was approved the app crashed when I tried to verify the license plate. I tried to report a concern and the app had an error. I eventually gave up and took the van. When I returned the van, the office was open, and I was done in a few seconds dropping the vehicle off. I would recommend doing your best to arrive during office hours and avoid online/app check in If you can.

Tani T- Truck over heated on the 3 mile drive home after picking it up. - Windshield washer bottle was damaged and you could not put washer fluid in the truck. - Interior smelled like Cigarette smoke, had ashes all over the interior, and had loose interior trim pieces. - Truck shook at a redlight and I thought the engine was going to blow. - This is the first time I have ever had a bad truck from U Haul. This is also the first time I have used this location before. Other locations seem to be ran better.
Garwin FI received a call the day before if we could move locations due to not having the size truck we wanted. Once we arrived to the location, the size truck we had asked for was also not there and the lady didn’t know where we were dropping it off. This all needs to be figured out before we arrived. It made the process very hectic and stressful when no one knew their part.
