Clerk was not helpful initially and in fact told me I was being rude. Customer service at UHAUL is very poor. I was told UHaul could charge me twice the amount I had already paid, $4800, if I left the equipment at this location. Horrible service.

Checkin lady was rude and disrespectful she insisted that I had to hook up the trailer on my own even said the customer should know how to do it. She was nasty and not comforting. When I finally hooked up the auto tow dolly by myself she yelled at me said I had to sign contract 1st. I explained again why would I sign contract if I could not hook up trailer. I then asked if she was proud that a women was able to do it by herself no help. Mind you I was in parking lot 20 mins attempting before I accomplished it. When I signed contract she said she had to inspect trailer I was in shock. She stated she didn't know how to hook it up and gave me a brochure earlier but here she is checking the wires and the locks. Wow. She could have least said right left to get my ball lined up but to know she knew how to do it entire time and was just rude. Drop off location in Denver NC told me it was supposed to hooked up by someone there before I left and he wouldn't let me unhook. That was uhaul policy. Hmm...I have no idea what uhaul policy is but I will do my best to never visit the town of South Hill again. Especially the uhaul business. I was already in a stressful situation, your rep made my day worse. Unbelievable. She was nasty.

Not to rip off customer off. I have a major complaint. I rented a truck in Georgia to go to New York. But unfortunately we were in an accident. In Virginia. So instead of me getting a truck there for free to untl my journey. I was told I had to pay for another rental to continue my journey to New York, which I had originally paid for the rental. I was charged twice. For one way service. I will be reporting U-Haul to the Better Business Bureau.

I rented this U-Haul for what was supposed to be a 200 mile rental to pick up equipment I purchased. I was hesitant to use this location because 2 months ago I tried to rent a U-Haul for our move from the same location. And when it was time to pick it up the lady was very short with me and acting as though I had made the whole reservation up because she knew nothing about it I had to ask her 3 separate times to take my reservation number and she seemed very inconvenienced. After checking my confirmation she told me I had been rerouted to another facility half an hour farther away and gave me a phone number. I called that number and they told me they were not even open and would have to change my pick up so I canceled the reservation and rented equipment elsewhere. This time I called ahead to make sure they had my reservation and they did so I went in. Upon receiving the truck, not only did NOT say 3/4 of a tank in gas it smelled like cigarettes so bad I drove it a mile up the road stopped called to reschedule my plans and brought it back. The lady at the front desk apparently believes herself to be clairvoyant because she interrupted me 3 times each time I started to speak to respond to things I hadn’t asked nor was I planning to ask. I get she does the same thing everyday and probably hears the same complaints but it would have been nice to be allowed to speak. I finally gave up on asking my question about other equipment and just never asked. We have moved 7 times in 12 years mostly due to my husband’s military service, and this was the worst experience I have had with U-Haul. I ended up renting equipment from somewhere that wasn’t U-Haul as I did 2 months ago. I can say with great confidence I will never reserve a U-Haul from there again, if anywhere, and hope the lady at the front desk finds a job she’s passionate about. I get that I am one small customer and in the grand scheme of their business I probably matter very little, but I’m sure other people have poor experiences whether they chose to share it or not. And I hope for the next customer the experience is better.

Extremely friendly and nice and went into the system to ensure I could return it at her location. However, she didn’t indicate they would be no charge and once again when my bill was received, there was an extra charge for that and for mileage and I was told it was set up for almost 200 miles. And I only drove 186.

When Enterprise Rent-a-Car promised me a car the local shop didn't have available, they left me stranded 30 miles from my family after an $80 cab ride, and no Lyft, Uber, or other cab companies were around, this local U-haul store was there for me, and had the equipment I needed to drive just north of the Richmond Airport one-way to pick up a National Car Rental so my family could get on with our vacation. I am so grateful for the one-way service, it was critical in my decision and ability to use this service.

1) Make sure that the blankets that are given are totally dry. There were a few in the bag that were still damp. I did not want to use them because the dampness would have been detrimental to the furniture. I was lucky that I discovered this before I left the location. 2) Make sure those who rent cargo trailers know that they will be responsible for backing them into spaces when they return them.

I've rented several U-hauls over the years and this truck was the worst I've ever gotten. At highway speeds the wind noise was so bad because of the damaged passenger side door, that I could not hear a conversation on my phone, though my earbuds. The back door is difficult to open. This truck should be fixed or retired.

After getting the run around from road side assistance, this office said enough and rented me a different truck. Was able to complete the rest of my trip return the vehicle before roadside got back with them. UHAUL Road side assistance is a joke, and needs and immediate overhaul

Place looks like a closed down bank. No helpful signs up telling you that you're at the right building. Wife and I stood in the parking lot looking around for several minutes trying to figure out where the actual storage place was. Showed up for the truck late and the software wouldn't let me pick up the truck. Was 45 minutes late for the movers because of that delicious software foolishness.
