MARC LThe staff was friendly. However, the safety of the vehicle was unacceptable. The steering alignment was so bad that the steering wheel had to be turned almost 180 degrees to one side to drive straight. Also, the fuel level indicated on checkout was nearly a 1/4 higher than in the tank, which I paid for out of pocket. This truck should never have been in service.

Luckily the manager was able to secure me another vehicle no thanks to your cooperate mistake. This is not the first time your company has let me down and not down your best with customer service. Your company’s know as U-Hell in my family because of all the headaches. Your convenience of location was the drawing point but since you failed it proved excellent customer service or any customer service for that matter, I will Be taking my business elsewhere and recommending all my friends and colleagues do the same. You are supposed to make the moving process easier not more difficult.
KENNITH HThe truck was dirty and I had to clean the windows before I drove it. When I started the truck, the gas light was on and I had to run to catch the guy before he left. The truck was conveniently parked at a gas pump at the pick up location. The employee told me he would credit $24 and instructed me to return it at 1/4 tank. $24 doesn’t cover 1/4 tank at his gas station by the way. There were other problems including no dolly that I had reserved and I went to get the employee to discuss but he had left. I had been distracted with the gas and windows and checking the condition of the outside that I hadn’t immediately thought of it. He was there maybe 5 minutes total. I left without the dolly.

DAVID DCommunication with the customer is ESSENTIAL, especially when most transactions are done digitally. There was ZERO communication with me about the dolly I had reserved nor the vehicle inspection. To be clear, this process is new to me, I haven't rented a Uhaul in probably a decade, but never had such a confusing, unorganized rental as this one. This particular location is a pretty busy gas station with a car wash. The facility is clean and when not bust is a good location to put gas in these trucks as there is plenty of room at the gas pumps. Getting to the rental is a little chaotic with the car wash being right in the middle. At check in, I was told the gas tank had 5/8 remaining and to make sure to return it there to avoid charges. I agreed. After completing my check in and going out to retrieve the vehicle, I was looking over the exterior of the vehicle, however the employee was on the phone the whole time. The vehicle was in very good condition, pretty new, and relatively clean with the exception of the MASSIVE bird poo dripping down the drivers window. I was never shown the gas tank as rental locations always do, nor offered to inspect the cargo area. As he was handing me the keys, I was told that I would have to commute to Northridge from this location in Woodland Hills (a minimum 20 min drive) to pick up the dolly I reserved because where I was returning the rental was not the same and would leave this location "without one". When I indicated that I would absolutely not go that far and was not made aware of this in advance, the gentleman told me he could give me the dolly he had there, but I would have to return it to him the same day before heading out to my destination. I agreed, not considering the extra time and mileage I would incur doing so. The gentleman handed me the keys and walked away. When I entered the vehicle I noticed that the gas tank was in fact not at 5/8, it was at 1/4 of a tank. Nothing was said to me, so I went back into the store to let him know. He told me "oh I know I put it in the inspection, you're good to go". Why couldn't that be communicated to me when we were looking over the vehicle? Nothing about the inspection was communicated to me, nor the fact that I would receive a text to confirm the condition of the vehicle that I should review "prior to leaving". I never saw the text message until later that night. I returned the dolly to it's original location as promised the same evening. The next morning when I dropped off the vehicle, I made sure the gas tank was 3/4 full to avoid any problems, as I did not have faith in the process that I went through the day prior. (I filled the tank for $100 when I dropped off the dolly putting essentially $75 extra gas to be safe). I received zero communication as to how to return the vehicle since the location was closed on Sunday, which again was never communicated to me during the reservation process. That would have allowed me the chance to choose an alternate location that would be open for drop off. While the online check out process is relatively easy, prior to completing the online check out process, I was prompted to pay additional charges as I had "gone over my allotted miles" and the balance was $7. While $7 is not a lot of money, the fact that I was charged MORE for following instructions by the rental location was truly disturbing. I had ZERO option to dispute these charges just to mark that I do not agree with the charges and an area for explanation. Considering the extra miles I had to drive to return the dolly as demanded by the original location and the additional gas I had put in the tank, I was pretty irritated at that point. I did leave an explanation of my dispute and shockingly have received ZERO feedback from Uhaul, which is not surprising considering how customer communication is effectively non-existent. I have however learned "the hard way" how this process now works. What to expect, what location options to look for, to call ahead to verify that my COMPLETE reservation is ready, that I will always DEMAND clear communication from rental sites and vehicle inspections, to put exactly into the rental what I was given, and that as technology has advanced allowing potential ease in transactions, it has taken away all customer service and accountability. Uhaul, do better.

Patty BSomeone at the location cancelled my reservation. It ultimately worked out but it was hassle and caused stress I didn’t need on an already stressful day.
GREGORY GI called and was told that the location was open until 7 pm from an automated message. When I arrived before 6pm, I was told that the U-Haul portion was closed (I saw later on the website that closing time was posted at 4pm). I left the key with the gas station attendant, who was very nice and very helpful. But I did not realize that U-Haul expected me to use their mobile app to close out the rental, which I think was mostly unclear communication from U-Haul, though the attendant who took the key didn't mention it either.
Matthew BVery poor customer service. There are no attendant at the times that they are scheduled to be open. All done by e mail that is sent after you have left the premisses.. The truck is given to you almost empty. you have to gas up when you leave, , then gas up again when you go back to drop off.

MAJD BThe truck was not "theirs" they said and we had ordered furniture pads and a dolley which we were told at pick up they could not provide - we were moving a whole house and then had to scramble to find a dolley that day. Not happy at all with this location they didn't check out the truck said gas was on 7/8 it was not it was on 1/2 tank which I took a picture of to prove. We paid too much and had this reservation for a month or more and needed the dolley and furniture pads.
JAMES DThere were a few things done poorly by the agent. First, he voluntarily said that he had checked the truck. He then said it had 1/2 tank of gas and should be returned with 1/2 tank of gas. This would seem a logical statement, except for the fact that it only had 3/8 of a tank of gas. So, is the agent a liar or is does he not know how to check and prepare a vehicle for departure? Again, since he volunteered that he checked the truck, why was the windshield so filthy , not just dirty but literally filthy, that I could barely see through it? Again, is he a liar or incompetent? Lastly, having rented from U-Haul many times, I know what to expect. Why didn’t he say anything about “inspect the truck and take pictures of any damage that doesn’t already have a sticker with an X on it to protect yourself from us claiming you did the damage?” U-Haul, you should be embarrassed to have these people represent you.

The first place that I had the reservation at said they didn't have my guaranteed rental even though there was a 10' truck sitting on the property. I then had to take a lift for $25 to the second location. At that location Chris was fantastic and got everything moving very quickly. It was a guaranteed pickup. Am I not entitled to some sort of refund?

Marcos SI would like to see a check in/out on the app. It wasn’t very clear how to get the keys or drop off the keys. Maybe photos of the Dropbox locations and a mini map to show where to park the truck. Overall thought the vehicle was bery well maintained and had super a/c!
Jennifer KZero help, wouldn’t even take the truck at first…until I proved to them I was supposed to be here! Terrible customer service. They seemed to be bothered that they had to deal with U-Haul and U-Haul customers. I would seriously look into pulling the franchise from this location/company.

ROBERT SU-HAUL Employee or 76-Employee should ask Renter if there are any Q's about the buttons on the Dash Board. For example, I was confused about how to turn off the "Tow/Haul" Light. I had to figure it out for myself.
Joe DAw though i had to clean the truck and fill up before i left because the tank was on E, they compensated me with a great price. They were extremely fair with a quick process. I was in and out within 5 -10 min. Not your regular Uhaul because it’s located in a gas station but I would still recommend this place to anyone. I was happy with my service overall.

Charles EThe representative tried to tell me there was no dolly inventory despite what I was told was available over the phone. He then stated that he never gets enough dolly inventory back from one way trips and was therefore reluctant to release it. It wasn’t until I agreed to return the furniture dolly to his location that he revealed that he did in fact have dollys and agreed to release one.

However, it was extremely frustrating that they did not have any dollys available even though I reserved one when I initially booked the van the day prior. Also the man working the counter was EXTREMELY rude and off putting as if it weren’t frustrating enough that there was no dolly he gave me the WORST attitude I’ve ever experienced from a customer service worker. Would definitely never come here again. I never leave bad reviews so it speaks volumes that I felt offended enough to take my time to do this. 2/10

Ronald FI was informed blankets would be included with the rental, at no additional cost. When I inquired that there were blankets in the truck, the said no and it would be a additional cost of $65.00 for 6 blankets. I informed the associate, what I was informed when I co nfirmed my reservations. I did not receive my blankets. I also was given 2 different addresses to pick up my rental with my upgrade 20" truck. This was very confusing and frustrating ! Plus delayed my moving! The associate at 76 station was understanding and accommodating due to the the confusion of the pickup.

ALEN OThe tire pressure were low with the warning sign. The gas gauge had problem and showed wrong amount. The car should be full of gas when the customer starts driving. Unfortunately it was 1/4 and bc of wrong gage gave me lots of stress.

This ventura Blvd place is a great location for me but everything I go there it's difficult to deal with the uhaul guy and they talk down to you. Plus my truck this time was filthy as a gutter
Daniel AI have been using UHAUL during the duration of my move. Every time I rent a car from them they claim there is excess damages to the car which I never did. The wheels of the cars are not properly aligned, it doesn't feel safe at all to drive. It is a horrible experience, and every time I go there they charge me different prices, unreliable and inconvenient.
