AMBERNICHOLE COn Saturday, July 22, 2023, we rented a vehicle from this location. A 10 ft. van to use for moving furniture. Prior to coming there, my wife gave the agent our credit card number, over the phone to reserve this vehicle. When we got there, the agent seem to have problems processing our reserve, due to a faulty credit card reader that she said was needed to finish processing the order. She said that she could not use the number we gave over the phone, because it was only used to reserve the vehicle. Also, my drivers' license was suppose to be read through a QR code, but that didn't seem to be working either. She had to use a different method in order to record it. This took quite a bit of time, and we were on a strict time schedule. When we finally got every thing resolved, we were shown our vehicle. When we open the passenger door, we found quite of bit of debris on the floor and the air conditioning was on when I started it up. I adjusted the drivers' side mirror and left. However, after driving it for a few minutes, we noticed an oily smell. I turned the air off, and the smell went away. After going over some bumps in the road, I kept having to readjust the mirror, because it would not stay stable. When it came time to return the vehicle, there were different people there as agents. I told them what faults I found with the vehicle, and that I didn't have time to come back and request something different. We had already wasted quite a bit of time at check-in. You need to give the nice people at this location, better equipment to work with, because this was absolutely the worst U-Haul experience that I ever had and not worth the money that I paid for!!

Pickup location was changed 3 times and added an additional 15 miles to our trip which we were charged extra for since we went over mileage limit

ANITA CMy initial reservation was not available when I arrived in the morning. I was never notified by anyone. I was directed to go to a different location an hour out of my way. I had to rent a smaller vehicle which wasn't large enough. Now I'm going to need to arrange making another trip to get the rest of what o was supposed to pick up. Which is over an hour from where I live. I was very late to my appointment and delayed all of my plans for the day. It cost me more time and money than expected. I also had a difficult time getting anyone to help me from Uhaul. I'm very disappointed and not satisfied at all with my experience.

Michael DYou can make sure that you give the customer enough mileage to their destination. Also make sure the gas is filled up correctly. this way the customer will not be over charged.

Kenneth KFor second time in a row, the pick up location was changed from my original pick up location in my reservation to another location with no communication from UHaul. I went to the pick up location that I set it up with and learned that the location had been changed resulting in additional travel and lost time.

LINDA MThe rental site is not the reason for this horrible review. Uhaul has always been a reliable resource for my moving needs, until this "reservation". I use the word reservation lightly since Uhaul does not seem to understand its meaning: my "reservation" was moved to a different location by their "traffic coordinator" & was booked by a location not in-town, but 20 miles away. A reservation is just that, reserving the equipment you request at the time & location you need it. Last time Uhaul user from NJ

Michael MThere were no trucks on site, so I was not able to pick up my rental truck as agreed per my reservation. I waited for an hour before it arrived. Customer service could not locate any trucks within a reasonable distance. Customer service called the customer who had my truck but could not reach him. I was told that I just needed to wait. Poor logistics...
Frederick HThe reason I would not recommend this to a friend is the difference it cost from the weekday to the weekend. It cost me over $300 to use a 10 foot truck for four hours that you tell me is that a rip off or not

Krista NI was promised a truck that was less than 10 miles from my old house and 2 miles from my storage locker (accessible till 6 pm that day) for a total of $42 at noon on Friday. When I went to pick up the rental, the man at the location I originally chose tried to bait and switch me and ask me if I wanted a pick up trucks. I said no. There was a chance of rain and I needed the 9 foot cargo van. Checked the app and my reservation now said 3 pm. Come back at 3 pm knowing I don’t have much time. He told me I could pick it up in Woodstown at 3. It was no 3;15. I went to Woodstown and was charged for an extra 50 miles, making it just over $100. Then of course by the time I got to the new location and checked out it was 4:15 didnt arrive to my house till 5:00. Of course we didn’t finish loading and unloading in time to get it into the storage unit and I was forced to keep it another day (giving me a full 4 hours) to unload . Not only was I forced to set my official move back a day but instead of charging me the additional day fee you’ve now DOUBLE charged me for the miles. Because it was the same total a second time the next day. I’ll be expecting a call with a reimbursement or your company can expect a dispute with my bank. I have the original email with the date time and location promised. Your bait and switch tactics have left this single mother out a significant amount of time , money, and worst of all I was robbed of a Saturday morning in the summer w my son. Do better.

Robert Fnew 20ft truck did have check gas cap warning light on whick I made Woodstown Ice and Coal aware of. uHaul website was at times difficult to navigate. The one way terms versus return to the same location and the charge per mile was not at all user friendly on the website or customer service. .99 per miles on top of rental fee is too steep. Not knowing if the truck will actually be at the pick up location is unnerving, but everyone should be automatically given the dispatcher phone number. They are very knowledgeable and work problems out. I would use this method of moving again. Having the helpers on the website makes this process complete. Thank you!
Angela CWhile this location was a nice place and the staff very helpful, Uhaul switched my place of pickup a day before, and didn't have the vehicle I reserved. I don't blame Woodstown Ice & Coal; I blame Uhaul, and I will think twice before reserving a vehicle with Uhaul again.
Richard CHad to go to 3 different locations to pick up rental. Put me 2-3 hours behind leaving. Sat in Salem, NJ for hour plus no one there and no one would answer phone. After going to Pennsville, NJ first. Than told to go to Woodstown, NJ to pick up rental. Very stressful & inconvenient.

Alison GThere were several requests by the staff for me to download the UHAUL application on my phone, I believe most people would rather not put rarely used applications on phones with limited memory.
Howard AWish they would have explained charging another $40 to our card. Gas it said but then rental tax on gas???? This was charged after leaving the store. Just would have liked to be told.
ANDREA FIn your tarlier rental,it will be helpful if a spare tire was added to trailer rental. I saw a number of trailer on the side of the road with flat trailer tires.with no replacement.

BRUCE DHave more availability of trucks so customer can lock in a time so they can plan accordingly. Telling them is around such and such a time and we’re not positive, makes planning tricky.
