When I started the truck after completing the rental agreement, the "Check engine" light was on. I immediately alerted the rental agent, who came out to the truck and connected a device for a few seconds and then assured me everything was alright and said I could drive it with no problems. I drove a couple miles to my home and when I started the truck again after such a short drive the same engine light was on again. I immediately called the same rental agent and was again assured there would be no problem driving this truck to and from Chapel Hill, NC. On that trip the next morning, the engine light was on constantly but also intermittently flashed, at which time the A/C emitted either warm or hot or no air at all. When I arrived at my destination in Chapel Hill, I called UHAUL to try to make it a one-way rental which was flatly denied because of the size of the truck, I was told. I expressed my concerns about driving the truck further as a matter of safety and was told to contact the UHAUL Assist which I did. That technician, Kevin, was very thorough and helpful and repaired the A/C while I was unloading the truck--it was something called the cold pack of the A/C. Kevin then told me after the repair was complete that he was somewhat surprised that the truck had made it to Chael Hill, because when the check engine light was flashing, it was supposed to shut the engine down completely. As a result, I will NOT go to this UHAUL renter ever again. I do NOT trust them to have properly operating equipment
