Reserved a 10'x15'x10' storage unit (confirmation # 766074-00100332) for a move in date of March 11th. When I arrived to pick up the U-Haul truck and sign the contract for the storage unit, it had been given away to another customer. I then had to rent and pay for a smaller unit that did not have enough room for our stuff, and wait several days for a 10'x10'x10' to open up so that we could move more stuff.

The only complaint I have is that the top of the boxes were all covered with dirt, That was probably because they were all open at the top and the dust and dirt came in. I felt that my items were safe And secure at u-haul West River road Elyria.
june h. | Overall ExperienceWe followed directions for move in and went to put our lock on the unit it took 15 mins get the lock on due to there being something wrong with the lock. The alarm kept going off and after asking the only employee on the premises what we should do he shrugged his shoulders and said he had no idea. I got a phone call to call the office the following day and I did. The manager said I didn’t properly put the lock on and unit is open. I explained it took forever for the lock to go and that there was something wrong with it. She told me to meet her there and to text her phone when I was on my way. I did text before I headed there waited 45 mins in the parking lot for a response. Finally left to go to work and I got a text back several hours later with her response saying “oh shoot I just seen this did you get it taken care ,there were two other employees on the premise” (I saw no one). This is not my first bad experience with this same manager or this uhaul location but they are the only inside unit in this area with an opening. Problem has still yet to be solved. And I’m currently paying for a unit I can’t leave things in because it won’t lock. And the unit is in poor condition large cracks all down the wall big enough to stick your finger through.
Kristen B. | Online Move InThe storage leaked water all the time not in my unit but there was always water all over the whole storage and there were always girls out there with shop vacs trying to get it cleaned up! On my day I turned in my pictures to the main uhaul in Lorain I told them there and she called me a lier right in-front of everyone in the store and said I didn’t know what I was talking about!! She was very ruin and I told her why would I lie!! She was very nasty to me!! Didn’t make any sense you can call me if u would like. Thank you

The service was excellent appreciate that you guys provide carts, and that you can unload your stuff inside without being in the elements. One suggestion is that the garage doors should not open automatically it should be where you have to put in your key code for that as well. Other than that, I was very impressed by the way the building was set up.

john s. | Overall ExperienceMy only complaint is that when I first arrived at the self -storage to enter my unit, I found it was already being used. Someone's motorcycle was in the unit. I called Uhaul & they had to give me a smaller unit (10'x10') because they were out of the 10'x15'
Madeline L. | First ImpressionsWhen I arrived there was a lock on the storage unit that I was given so I had to call and wait on hold for 15 minutes then they hung up on me and I had to call back, then I was told that the unit would not be available until Monday so I had to pay 186.00! To get a bigger storage because they didn’t have another one like the one I had reserved. On top of that I had to pay an extra 200.00 to my movers because of the time wasted on all of the extra run around and them not being able to unload soon as we arrived. This was totally unexpectable !! It was not my fault the the other person wasn’t there to take their lock off of the storage before me and I had to pay all that extra money. Kevin P. | Overall ExperienceReserved a 10 x 15 unit online. Followed up with phone call confirming my spot. Went to rent truck then pay for unit and was told there was no units available. Offered a 5 x 10 but wanted a 10 x 15. Found another storage unit somewhere else and got that. Recieved phone call later that 10 x 15 unit was available at west river location so took that. Filled up truck, went to west river unit only to find a personal lock on my unit. Called and offered 5 X 10 which i had to take because I'd cancelled other 10 x 15 from different business. Emptied truck but unable to fit everything in 5 x 10. You guys need to make sure unit is available before you confirm it to renters. This day was awful. Then when my son had the truck up for inspection, the older gentleman got rude because only ONE furniture pad was used and left on floor by door and was told he had to pick it up before they would finish inspection. Unbelievable......
Debra H. | First ImpressionsI chose to rent here because the website advertised that I could “Rent Now” for immediate move in and access to the building. I needed a storage unit as soon as possible after an unexpected situation with my living situation. Renting a unit here was the most affordable option and I had a free month with my truck rental. I not able to access the building even after receiving my access code and unit an hour before. The building manager was not responsive even after a dozen calls in an attempt to get assistance. There should be an on-call person who’s available to assist with these issues. I spent an hour and a half outside of the facility until I had to give up and find another storage facility. This was the worst experience I’ve had with any customer-serving business. I will never recommend anyone to utilize this facility
