Storage facility is clean and well monitored. The staff is incredible especially the manager. The manager was very helpful and I enjoyed our interactions. My issue with this facility is the elevator. I stored there because it had and elevator for the second floor. However the elevator never seems to function. I moved in without the use of the elevator and moved out without the use of the elevator. I will not recommend this facility to anyone unless they stay on the ground floor.
DOUGLAS B | Overall ExperienceCharged me a full month for 1 extra day at the facility, then changed me for an in town move with their truck despite advertising that they will comp it. I'll use a different company next time. This is a corporate problem not a local staff issue.

Mikey, the wonderful manager was friendly, professional, and very very patient while explaining everything to me. I couldn't have been treated better from beginning to end. He made sure I understood the details every step of the way. He then gave me a tour to my new storage unit. I must say that the service, the location, the pricing and the respectful/friendly attitude at this storage facility is UNBEATABLE!! And don't forget to rent your moving truck for them.

It’s terrible to get your belongings upstairs you need to drag them up the stairs because you’re elevator does not work half the time this facility needs a real elevator that wants to help its customers instead of just trying to get their money very very bad management And it’s so sad because all the employees were extremely extremely nice

Cody J | First ImpressionsMike was extremely rude, I went and opened my unit to unload my stuff and was gone for not even 5mins just for a lock to be placed on my unit, I was perplexed and upset. The woman up front was no help at all and it was really bad customer service. I walked out and screamed the F bomb out pure frustration on the customer service I received..it was really terrible. Then Mike calls me just to be a flat out rude person not listening to what I had to say and then kick me out of the unit, costing me more time and money. I've never had a problem here at all but this morning's staff was really rude. The only one who was Helpful was Dylan C. That guy rocks and deserves a promotion he was cool and helpful. But Mike and his morning staff need to get it together and not treat customers like an inconvenience. I like Uhaul but the McHenry facility needs some lesson on human kindness.

jesse N | Overall ExperienceI received a notification that my whole reservation was canceled when I didn't occupy storage within 3 days. I was supposed to have a free month, but uhaul had overcharged me $640 on my recent move. My move in was delayed due to billing issues and subsequent lack of funds to pay for relocation to new facility. I was unaware I had to take possessionimmediately to take advantage of the promotion, but it was probably in the terms and conditions. I just always run into some type of issue Everytime I book a uhaul online or in app. Their website and app need to be fixed, ungraded, more user friendly or something. These third party businesses seem to have extra issues because of the faulty uhaul practices. When ever possible, I will try to cut the middle man in the future. Uhaul charges 15% more than the third party vendors and cause more issues and chaos for the privilege of dealing with them as a middle man and a less convenient one at that.I was trying to resolve that to get my money back to paystill am in financial limbo and no storage to move into now even when it finally is resolved.
