Susan V | Overall ExperienceThe alarm on my unit did not work right. I correctly entered my code and it said I was checked in. But the alarm still went off when I opened my door. Then when I left and check out, it would say my door was open even though it was closed and locked. I asked employees to have it fixed twice. It never was.
Jacob H | Overall Experience5-Star Review for U-Haul Storage of Williston I can’t say enough good things about the outstanding service my husband and I received from Dylan Bacon, the General Manager at U-Haul of Williston. We were in a very stressful situation with a tight deadline—my 82-year-old mother needed surgery in Florida, and we had to drive all the way from Williston, North Dakota, to be there for her. Dylan went above and beyond to help us make that possible. He personally coordinated with other customers and arranged the drop-off timing for the toy hauler we needed, ensuring everything worked out perfectly so we could stay on schedule. His professionalism, patience, and genuine care made a world of difference during a difficult time. The entire U-Haul team deserves recognition as well—James and Desi were always pleasant, courteous, and helpful whenever we stopped by. You can tell they all take pride in their work and truly care about their customers. Dylan’s work ethic is beyond professional, especially in the way he calmly and respectfully handles every type of customer, even those who may not be so polite. U-Haul is lucky to have him leading their Williston location. I highly recommend this team to anyone in need of reliable, compassionate, and top-notch service.

Lora P | Overall ExperienceWhile we found the facilities clean, easy to find, and everyone was pretty friendly, the manager made us feel very uneasy and uncomfortable to the point we moved our stuff to another storage unit. When we first arrived with our full Uhaul after checking in online because we had just driven 16 hours over two days, the manager drove up to my fiancé just staring while he was on a work call, he’s a project manager at a construction site in Williston, until he rolled down the window. He began awkwardly asking him questions, all while he was inside the full Uhaul truck in front of our unit, and continued questioning him making him extremely uncomfortable to the point he stopped unloading the truck to find us another storage facility. The manger did this a couple times while my fiancé was in our storage unit. It felt like he was profiling us or accusing us of something and it was extremely intrusive and unnecessary. We spent nearly $4,000 to rent your equipment and I just had major surgery three days before the move so my fiancé really had a lot on his plate without the harassment. While I appreciate the manager caring for the facility we did not appreciate him stalking and questioning us every chance he got. Even when we officially moved out he called and made us uncomfortable again. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding but I don’t believe it was. The units there are outdoors, very visible, and they have cameras. He was being nosey and intrusive. We make six figures a year and are members of church and good people. I’m not sure if he does this to everyone but after a move like that being questioned like we were trespassing while inside a full Uhaul minding our own business in front of OUR rented unit it felt completely unnecessary. I was an ASM for Uhaul in Utah, I know his behavior was not appropriate. We will not be storing anything there and I don’t recommend it to anyone. His behavior was bizarre and unwarranted. There is a difference sir between customer service and bullying your patrons and maybe you have problems with nefarious people around there but assuming everyone is falls under profiling. We might of dismissed your behavior had you not dragged it on and on hovering and continuing questioning us when clearly we were there with purpose and were paying customers. Customer Service isn’t for everyone, I don’t think it’s for you. I just worry if there was more to his behavior than just being diligent…and that’s a scary thought.

This happened EVERY TIME we went to our unit. We complained numerous times in the 8 1/2 months we rented the unit and nothing was ever done about it. This was a very frustrating experience.
