They should NOT offer an in person check in option when booking, if that is not possible for this site. It delayed me 30 mins trying to rebook using the remote check-in after being told this location does not have people available to help with check in. That being said, the helper who answered the phone (U-Haul help call center) afterwards and helped me close out and finish my return was an angel.

Don DThis location was insane - like entering a portal to some mechanic's junkyard - there was no one on-site to rent us a vehicle and the building didn't even have a handle on the front door. We had to wait 45 minutes while they figured out what van was available for us, walking along the street to find the correct one and then have them help us wedge the van out of being parked inches away from other cars on the street. This was truly an insane experience, and probably the most unorganized business I've ever been to. Very surprising for an "official" U-haul rental place. That being said, the van was clean and worked fine, and everyone that helped us was nice, but everyone was surprised we were there for a rental and were very, very disorganized. Unforgettable location due to the insane view after sticking your hand in a hole in the door to open into the "rental building". But also, that's New York, so...
Ursula BThe location appears to be an abandoned warehouse. No one was there to help at the time of my pick up. When someone did arrive, she informed those of us waiting that she didn't have enough vehicles for everyone. I happened to have arrived first and ended up getting a van, but there was an electrical issue that caused the "Right Rear Door Open" alarm to go off and the lights to flicker on and off continuously for the entire length of my rental. There was also sand all over the back of the van. It was also nearly impossible to find a place to park the van at the end of my rental. I will never be using a U-Haul in New York City again.
