I had a reservation to pick up tow dolly at 6 am. The clerk didn't know how to check the equipment out to me. Told me to come back around 9 am. I left and called the 800 # and a gentilman helped me get everything worked out.

U-Haul is getting an "excellent" rating due ONLY to the persistence of Katelyn at Cagles. She was sincere and genuine in her desire to help us resolve problems that began at the U-Haul storefront on 2447 Shorter Avenue, Rome GA, where we reserved a 20-foot truck for a Saturday pickup. When we arrived Saturday morning, we were told they did not have a truck. We had movers at the house, so we needed to find a truck quickly. The front-desk representative at the Shorter Avenue store called her manager, who discounted the rental fee and gave us the address of two more locations to go online and try to reserve a truck. The attendant at the Shorter Avenue store offered no further assistance in finding a truck and started cussing when we persisted that we needed some help locating a truck. We left with the addresses and phone numbers of the other two locations in hand, and thankfully we connected with Katelyn. She alone saved us by patiently walking us through all of the technology required to rent the one 20-foot truck she had. In every other respect, U-Haul has been a difficult experience since they now require so much of the rental and return process to be handled through mobile apps, emails and texts. Young folks may love this process, but us Baby Boomers do not. It was hard from start to finish and was a horrible customer service experience at the Shorter Avenue store. When it came time to return the truck after hours at a drop-off location in another state using the U-Haul app, we're thankful we had a youngster with us, or we would have been in yet another technology dilemma.

RANDOLPH DThe owner kept making me step side when customers entered the store. He was in the middle of checking my truck in and would stop to check out customers. After the fifth time I became frustrated and said I’m only stepping aside this last time. He proceeded to tell me that Uhaul is his side business and the other customers were more important. Also I tried to tell him that the left rear tire had a slow leak and I had to put air in it several times. He said that wasn’t his problem. I will never pick up or drop off at a location other than an official Uhaul store
