I had intended to sign up for a u-Haul rental where we would engage with a person who could assist. . We were surprised when we went to the shop we were renting from that it was not open and we were expected to download an app to get instructions, get the key, and upload information into the app. We lost at least 30 minutes of our 3 hour rental time, just trying to figure out what we were supposed to do, and then another 15 minutes trying to check in through the app. Finally the shop owner arrived and was able to help get the key from a lock box. Perhaps for someone familiar with the process it would be easier, but it should be clear when you reserve a truck that this is what you are in for.

I think the UX with the website to check in needs work. I initially tried checking in on my computer but it didn’t work so I had to re-do it right as I was picking up my rental. My biggest gripe was the camera feature. It wouldn’t let me upload previous pics I took and had to retake the pics again. Scanning my drivers license was also a bit buggy - I ended up just taking a pic of my license instead.
Rachelle ASanjau was very helpful when I arrived. He explained the process and provided clear instructions on what I needed to do. It was easy access to the truck and the truck was very clean and all equipment functioning as expected.
