I reserved a U-Haul, then received an email the night before saying my truck was unavailable and I could pick up a replacement 45 minutes away and return it an hour away. I rented a larger truck from a closer facility. At pick up the auto body location had no one available; I waited about an hour. Staff were polite but disconnected from online reservations. Online chat suggested using a drop box for keys, but the truck was in a locked back lot, so I couldn’t access it. I was delayed by an hour yet charged extra. Returning the truck at night felt unsafe on dark industrial street where I had to park my car.
