Honestly the diy vehical pick up and drop off thing was a massive pain in the ass. The app was completely unresponsive, the website which only worked half the time was unbearably slow. I spent 40 minuets trying to get just get the stupid lock box open. Everything else was fine, the truck ran smooth and was in good condition. The drop off was less of a hassle thankfully, it was down pouring which made taking photos a nightmare. Just please fix the app and streamline the process. Like have the renter send all the information thats need when booking a reservation instead of when they get there.
Nicholas COn Saturday (7/8/23) we called our local UHaul at 10440 Seminole Blvd, Largo, FL, and requested a 10' truck rental for Sunday (79/23). They told us to just come in Sunday, that they have plenty of trucks. On Sunday, we arrived at UHaul, requested a truck and was told there was no 10' truck, but there was one at a nearby location. We went to the location at 131 Clearwater Largo Rd N, Largo, FL. No UHaul. There was, however, the Villa Italia Pizzeria, run by a nice Albanian man named Mario who informed us the UHaul box was attached to the back of his building. We went to the box, read the instructions, and began a very long, tedious process of loading an app on our phone, attempting to bring up our reservation. Using the reservation code we'd just received from the original UHaul location, we learned that we could not access our reservation, but had to make a new reservation, which we attempted to do. This was impossible, since that time slot was already reserved, by us. Frustrating. We then called 800-Go-Uhaul (one of several calls) which proved fruitless. Finally, after the final call, they transferred us to another line and they were able to secure our reservation and help us gain access to the keys which were locked in the lock-box. This process took a few hours, in the Florida heat (not normal heat, Florida heat) dressed in our church clothes, standing behind a pizzaria. We started our adventure at 11:00 am and didn't return home until nearly 5pm. It was the worst moving experience imaginable. NOTE: Everyone we dealt with -- from the UHaul folks in Seminole, the UHaul help lines, and even Mario the Albanian pizza man -- was very friendly and did their best to ease our pain. No problem with the people involved. But the situation could have been more FUBAR.
tony vImprove visibility.
JOSEPH OFirst of all was under the impression that there was supposed to be an employee there to take care of me there's no employee there there's no employees on site at all it is just a drop off location on the vehicle was disgustingly dirty I had to contact customer service in order to get somebody to release the vehicle to me because I was having problems with the 24-hour website the vehicle broke down on me I had to wait several hours on a battery replacement costing me a full days of day of work over $230 I lost out on because of your faulty and broke down equipment on top of that I had a flat tire constantly had to spend almost $50 at air pumps at $2 a pop to keep air in the tire just totally unacceptable then on the day I had to return it I was having phone problems so that was in part partially my problem which allowed me to not be able to contact or reach out to you guys about a flat tire I had and it was so flat that it was unable to be driven and it took me several hours to find somebody who's able to bring me an air pump to pump it up so that it could become drivable so that I was able to get it returned
