We received a text the morning before we were supposed to pick up our 26’ uhaul truck stating that we could no longer pick it up at the convenient location we had first requested 2 months earlier. So I called headquarters and asked if we could get it the evening before our initial date if we did agree to the pickup location change. They agreed with this. When we arrived the owner of the facility informed us the truck was clean and had been checked over thoroughly. When we lifted the back door the truck was filthy and filled with dirty blankets. We knew it had not been checked. We requested the amount of clean blankets that we had paid for. The owner said he didn’t have that many and told us we didn’t need that many. I told him we had paid for that amount. He turned around and cussed as he was going to look for more clean blankets as we proceeded to clean the truck out. When we got the truck home we had to continue to clean the grease and filth out of it before we could start loading our boxes and furniture inside. We would not recommend this facility to anyone. And are extremely upset with uhaul for changing our pickup point last minute.

Sally BIf you rent from this location, be careful that you don't put yourself at risk for damages later! 1. The clerk removed the insurance I had put on the equipment when I reserved online, and the printout he gave me to sign was so blurry that I couldn't even read it. He emailed a copy to me to review later, and it never occurred to me that he would have removed the insurance coverage without at least asking me or explaining the reason why. 2. We handed him my husband's driver's license as he would be the one driving the truck. The clerk refused it and said we were fine as long as both of us had a valid license. But once I could read the electronic copy of the contract I could see that was not the case. So we had to figure out how to add him to the rental as an authorized driver. 3. I spent an hour on the phone with U-Haul that night trying to get everything straightened out, which just added stress to the move. Despite proof that I tried to add insurance, U-Haul would not let me add it after the fact (even with an offer to drive the truck to another U-Haul location in the morning for inspection to prove there was no damage). I've been told that U-Haul will address these issues with the clerk at the Deep Gap Storage location to improve service in the future, but at this point I don't believe anything they say. You are better off renting at the Boone location.
