Location was great but had to drive over 100 miles to get trailer. Very unhappy with U-Haul in general. This location and owner were great.

The issue I have is not with the pickup or drop off location but with U-Haul as a company. I rented a 20 foot truck and an auto transport trailer. I rented this two weeks before I needed to pick it up. I got a call a week before telling me that I had to drive 45 minutes away to pick it up because they wouldn’t have one at any of my local places. Ok fine. I go to pick it up. I show up on time. There’s no truck and trailer. The guy at the shop I was picking it up at said the customer hadn’t returned it yet. I wait for 30 minutes or so. Finally the guy says I’ll have to call U-Haul. They actually call me before I could call them. They say I have to drive to another location another 45 minutes away to pick up the truck but the trailer is at a different location that’s in the opposite direction at a separate dealer. I’m out of options so I have to agree. I drove to this location. No truck. They had rented it out that morning but it didn’t get changed in the system. 30 more minutes on the phone with U-Haul. There’s another dealer within sight that I can see has the truck I need. I go to check it out. It’s an older truck and can only be used in town. So no luck. On the phone again with U-Haul. Now I’ve got to drive 45 plus more minutes back toward the first place I went to but farther away to get a truck. They had a 26 foot truck. I got to check this one out because I have no other options and I have to have the truck. I get there. There’s a truck! No one actually mans this place. It’s just a pickup. I’ve never done this before and there’s no signs or anything with directions for how to get the truck. On the phone I go again. Finally after 30 minutes I get it figured out and get the truck! Trailer pickup was no problem. 5 hours and 5 U-Haul locations and about 150 miles later, I finally get to start loading my life into the truck. This move was difficult enough having to leave a life behind and going to a new one. However, U-Haul made it so difficult that I would never use them again! I will pay 2 times or more the price to keep from using them.
Matthew NNobody showed up for me to get my reserved trailer. Uhaul rescheduled me at a location that was not open. Fortunately someone from my first pickup returned my call she said she did not recieve the reservation. Went back to get the trailer wasting 2 hours and gas. This is BS
Steven BYour smartphone app's design is terrible. No consistency between "Continue" or "next" when steeping through check out process, is far from intuitive. I took photo of returned trailer with app and then no option to upload (great cell service too so that's not it). Just a poorly thought out app and not tested. Wanda Curtis that operates Freestate Barn in Double Springs, AL is the rental agent there for U-haul and she is great, very accommodating to help with the shortcomings of the app.
Gregory RThe nicest Lady at this location. She was such a huge help!
