I cannot tell you how frustrating it is that U-Haul of Eureka does not answer their phone. When you call their phone number, which is a local number, it automatically goes the to U-Haul call center, who puts you on hold for at least 10 minutes before you actually get to talk to someone. When I went into the U-Haul of Eureka store and asked them why they themselves don't answer their phone I was told it's because they don't have time. That sounds to me like you don't have time for your customers. I was wanting to buy some moving boxes and tried to call U-Haul of Eureka to see if they are open and if they have boxes and I got the call center. I told them I was not going to drive all the way to the store unless I talked to a person actually at the store first. The person at the call center told me they would leave them a message to call me. They didn't call me back for three hours and I had gone somewhere else to get boxes by that time. I just want to be able to call the local U-Haul of Eureka and talk to someone in the store, not to some call center person who only knows what is written on a computer screen. I will never use U-Haul of Eureka again for this very reason. It is so rude to waste your customer's time by not actually picking up your phone and making them wait on hold for some call center person who can' t answer your questions anyways. This is unbelievably rude.

very disappointed in the $25 cleaning fee since my husband and I spent a good amount of time cleaning other peoples smashed up cookies and crumbs out of the dash and doors. wish we wouldnt have bothered cleaning it at all.

First, I was told to verify the fuel level before i left. I did. It was 1/8 tank short. A uhaul representative made a note of it yet I was still charged for the 1/8 tank on my bill. Second, I was told to bring the truck back clean or I would be charged. The truck wasn't clean when I took it. The windows and mirrors were all dirty. Third, the check-in after hours procedure is rediculous! Why should the customer (after having paid $500+ dollars for a day of truck use) have to take all those pictures and answer all those questions. That should be the job of the uhaul rep. Overall, uhaul charges way too much for the use of a truck. $500+ is insane! What a fucking ripoff uhaul is! I will never rent from you again!!!!!!!!

Double check on orders before charging. I picked up just before close and dropped off in the late evening (6 hours later). I checked my email in the morning and was double charged on the rental. It was a quick visit in to have it corrected but not one that should have been required.

I’d like to say that the staff are fine, I’ve always had great service, but you guys have some systematic problems that really need addressing. The check out time is TOO SLOW!!! Every time I come to check out something, I’m seething with impatience, and I’m normally an extremely patient person. I always have to wait a long time while someone else is going through the process. Your computers a AGGRAVATINGLY SLOW. Every time I come, the staff are frustrated with how slow they are. You guys ask too many questions. The fact that I have to answer a bunch of questions, then go out and hook up the trailer, then go back in and do a bunch more! You guys “randomly select” people to have to get a third reference from? That’s bogus. Two numbers is enough, or let me just give you all three at once. The “random selection” just makes me feel like I’m being profiled! What I’d like to see is an online questionnaire that volunteers my information, that I can just scan through and make changes on. Please have more respect for your customers time, let alone the poor clerks who have to go through this process all day long with your obsolete computers. I honestly never feel so frustrated as I do going through your process.

Ive already talked to someone about how the buisness was that day. Im waiting to hear from your manager. You guys made me get a truck because the trailer light connector wasnt working on my truck. Then after they made ne spend the money on the truck, there was a check engine light (and it had throttle response issues) and also they obviously didnt check the trailer lights because they didnt work with the truck either. Despite the fact that i had told the guy in there that the plug was all chewed up like it had dragged for miles, he just looked at me like wtf do you expect me to do about it ( of course he didnt say that but thats the vibe i got from him. Another thing is the guy with yhe glasses that talks kinda like hes a homosexual? Im not judging that i just didnt get his name. He was very rude. Especially to this woman who came in to drop off a dolly and asked where she could put it, just pointed to where she was and said right there. Then when she walked off he like scoffed and shook his head. He also was the one that retrieved the car dolly for me, and he was like throwin them around letting them drag all over the place was knocking them together and stuff. Over all the experience i had was terrible. And needless to say i will not be returning. But i would like to be reimbursed. For the truck because of the check engine light and the faulty throttle response which couldve been very dangerous especially towing a trailer. And the trailer because they didnt even check the lights. I have video footage of all of this. From the second we first started the truck. So let me know what we need to do to move foward with this.

Terrible customer service. I called ahead of time to let them know I was running a little late and the answering service told me that it want going to be a problem and made a note on my file. The store however charged me an additional day and told me that it was their policy to charge an extra day if The return is even 1 minute late. I told them that I called and had it cleared in advance and the store manager said that it didn't matter and that if I wanted to complain, that I'd need to call the 1-800 number....I'm still waiting on a return call and/or email from them. This store manager is rude, unprofessional and completely unreasonable. Try another location!
