GPS showed my travel to be less than 60 miles total. U-Haul charged me for 105 miles. I trusted the beginning mileage would be what they claimed and did not verify. No plans to waste time disputing the charge but it won’t happen again.
Jerome AWith the INCREDIBLE EXCEPTION that this location was VERY inconvenient. We had reserved the 5x8’ trailer for our ( annual) trip from FL to NC waaay back in February!!! We had specifically asked for Oviedo Auto Repair and for a drop off in/near Sapphire/ Cashiers, NC. Uhaul informed us at the last minute that our pickup location would be quite far from our home, and that our drop off would be in Franklin, NC….Franklin is a considerable distance away and involved traversing narrow and curving mountain roads! Not to mention the fact that we had just driven 600 miles on May 27th! Please note , and you should have ample records of this: we ALWAYS return the equipment AHEAD of contracted time, and clean / in good condition! I was frustrated by the distances involved in your pickup/dropoff instructions, and furthermore experienced refusal from NUMEROUS locations in/ around Salphire/ Cashiers, NC to accept the drop off!!! Please note that Robert helped us obtain the trailer very graciously in Oviedo. The actual location that you specified for drop off informed me that they were not a drop off site, and directed me to where I was actually able to drop off the trailer. This situation was not appreciated by us long term customers. There should be a more localized arrangement for pick up and drrop off, and overages in inventory should be rectified at the company level….not at tremendous inconvenience of the customer. Not to mention the additional costs of gasoline at current prices!!!!
