As a first-time renter, my experience with U-Haul was a mix of poor in-store service and excellent phone support. The pick-up process took nearly an hour, during which I stood in awkward silence while an untrained employee had to call a colleague for help. When I returned the truck within my 4-hour window, I explicitly asked twice if I needed to do anything else and was told no, leaving me unaware that I needed to check it out on the app. Consequently, customer service called the next day to ask if I still had the vehicle. Fortunately, that representative was fantastic—she immediately corrected the drop-off time and sent a confirmation email, turning a frustrating, poorly communicated front-desk experience into a great example of corporate customer support.

Better customer service, equipment was fine and everything but I felt like the lady was upset with me the entire time just for being there.
