When I arrived to pick up the 15' truck I reserved online, the representative I spoke to forced me to sign the paperwork stating the fuel level before I was able to inspect the truck. The large problem came when it was time to refill the truck before dropping it back off, that same day. From receipts, and pictures, I can show that the truck was only driven around 65 miles, and that the tank was originally at 3/5 full. When filling up the gas tank, which after the drive was around 2/5 full, the gauge got “stuck” at ½ full. Then it stayed there, no matter what I did. Until the pump outside eventually clicked, letting me know it was full, and the gauge inside “magically” shot up to full. When I attempted to speak to the representative I spoke to earlier, she took a phone call in front of me and waved me off, being incredibly rude. She had another representative take me instead, who made light of my issue with the words of “Oh, well we'll make a note of that in the file”. She was also incredibly nervous as I took pictures of the condition of the truck upon return, insisting that I didn't need to. She also asked me the question “You've rented a U-Haul before, haven't you?” Make of that information what you will, but I will never be coming back to this location, and I will be making sure I let everyone in the area know about it as well. The fact that something is that wrong with one of the fleet vehicles should be taken seriously. The fact that the representatives had no interest in providing basic customer service, let alone fixing a problem as egregious as this one, should be taken even more seriously.
