When I went to the location (55 S. State Avenue) to pick up my truck, which was scheduled for after hours pick up, I was not able to complete the process due to the website saying there was no equipment for my reservation. 45 minutes, and 3 different reps, later, it was discovered that the person who had the truck that was reserved for me did not drop it off on time, so the location couldn't check it back in and get it ready for pick up. No one from the location bothered to call me, and I got no response from the name and number posted on the website for 24 hour assistance. Since I took a Lyft to the Uhaul pick up spot, I was stranded there because customer service said they couldn't help me access the equipment that was reserved for me (and was on location). I had to take a $17 Lyft ride to another location to get a truck that was way too big, but was all they had available.

We ordered a10 ft truck to pick up from Zionsville IN and we got notice to pick it up from this location. We were given a 16 ft truck. We did not need the truck bought it back paid for the mileage but was charged for a 16 ft not a 10 ft.

I liked the online drop-off ability, but it was frustrating to have to be at the location to finalize the drop-off check-out. We weren't aware of this and drove a few miles to a restaurant for dinner. Discovered then that we had to be on site, and had to return to facility. There should be signage spelling out need to check equipment in using the app while you are still at the rental location.

When I made my reservation two days in advance, I requested a truck as well as an appliance dolly. When I arrived to get the truck, there was no appliance dolly for me. When I asked why it wasn’t there, one of the workers simply said, “we just don’t have any”. I then asked why that was the case when I made the reservation two days prior and he said, “we didn’t have any that day either”. They did nothing to try to fix the situation, so I just had the take the truck and rent an appliance dolly elsewhere. I found this to be very frustrating, especially considering that during my visit, I saw on the credit card machine an ad that said, “Did you know that UHaul guarantees that your rental equipment will be ready when you pick it up?” This location needs a reminder to deliver on that promise. I will not rent from this location again and probably not use UHaul again if I can help it.

I had booked a U-Haul and dolly 2 weeks in advance. The day before my move I was told that there was not the truck I requested at the location I indicated. It would have been nice to know in advance or for them to make necessary accommodations due to the late notice. Also, I had booked a dolly and they did not have one so I was told I would be given a 40$ refund. I didn’t receive it 2 days following my move and tried emailing them twice but no response. I am currently on the line waiting to talk to customer service and have been waiting 20 minutes. The company needs to work on their customer service.

Our trailer wires were dragging on the ground as we drove away, we were able to fix them but it was frustrating that we apparently should’ve double checked the quality of the hook up.

I have 2 suggestions for improvements that would of made my u-haul experience 100x better! 1)Make sure that your online and call center records match up with your actual inventory at the locations. 2) The call center actually knows what I can actually rent at a location. I was told that the location would come with the hitch ball for the trailer. Then when I get to the location they told me I had to by a $25 ball on top of the rental of the trailer when I could of gone to Lowe’s and bought one for $10. I feel like I was ripped off by your company with a bait and switch!

I was told I had a bill before I was able to rent and had to pay that so I pay the bill and then after receiving a bill to find out it was not my bill was belong to someone else so I want to know how come I'm still getting charged for somebody else's bill

Don’t change a thing. Mr Green, who assisted me throughout the rental process, was polite, personable and professional. The gentleman was first class all the way, not to mention efficient and FAST! I don’t like moving, who does, but the portion of my move that involved U-Haul was the best portion, hands down.

I would not recommend U-Haul. I reserved a truck on line. I received a call the next day saying that they could fulfill my request for the size of truck and equipment, but would need to change my pickup location. I was fine with that. When I went to pick it up, they did not have what I reserved. We got a smaller truck and no equipment. They were turning people away who had reservations, saying they had nothing for them.

This was not my original pick up/drop off location. I reserved a truck in the Zionsville location; however, when I arrived, there was not a truck available. Uhaul tried to send me to another location in Brownsburg which was out of my way and was closed. Ended up driving a half hour to this location. Not happy and will never use Uhaul again.

The app and instructions on phone do not match. If you leave a vehicle after hours a pic of fuel and milage or the return might be considered a day late. So what happens if the app does not work properly as it did for us or if the phone is dead or perhaps data is not subscribed? Call the 800 line wait 1/2 hour for them to answer so you can notify of after hour drop-off and they’ll say “how do I know you dropped the vehicle off at the center?” Very cumbersome system to use. Someone needs to walk through all the various instructions and fix the inconsistencies.

Notify renter that you have changed the return process. Not everybody has an unlimited data plan for their phone, the check on didn’t work and the customer service reps were extremely rude and not at all helpful. I was chided for leaving the premises and was told she could not help me with the check in because I didn’t stay. I went back across the street and called but was told the same thing. It was really frustrating but does not reflect on the location by the company as a whole, I wish the guys had notified me upon rental.

First website stated I could get this from east Washington street, then an hour before pick up changed to Lafayette road location. It takes about 45 minutes to get to there from house so not convienent. Second website stated personnel would have to verify towing capacities. I had a hitch ball I knew was only rated for 3500#, when I got there, I purchased approved rated 7500# ball but when I go to get hooked up I was informed that there was no shop to exchange the balls and that I would be ok. Trailer looked short and when I asked if it would fit the pick up I was getting on it, I was told “if that is what the website told you would fit”. I got to the location for pick up and the vehicle fit on the trailer with only 1 1/2” to spare on the back tires. The trailer’s tag plate was missing and in marker on the frame it said “tag missing” and then numbers for what I assumed was the tag. When I got to the location to pick up there was a line towards the door and only one guy working the counter at 9 am. Finally another worker showed up to help at around 9:30. Original guy apologized for the wait and said his co-worker was to be there when they opened and he was definitely upset and overwhelmed. He was very friendly and did his best to accommodate me in a timely fashion, hooked me up and sent me down the road.
