This was a weird experience. The U-Haul systems were experiencing difficulties when I went to pick up my truck. That isn't anyone's fault. When I went to pick up my truck, it wasn't there...the previous renter hadn't returned it yet. The advice from the on-site agent was to call U-Haul to see how I should proceed. The original agent, Autumn was wonderful, then she handed me to someone in scheduling who was NOT. He was condescending, short, and although ultimately helpful, was only so in the most minimal of ways. Based on my short call, he does NOT belong in a customer-facing role. Immediately after rescheduling my truck for another location on another day, the truck was returned. I had to go back through U-Haul to have the appointment returned to the original site. The agents I spoke to on the second call were BOTH wonderful, helpful, kind, and personable. I was able to pick up the truck because the local agent took my information manually since the backend systems were down. The truck met all my expectations. When I went to return the truck, the return system was still not behaving properly and I had to go through the entire return process twice because the app crashed. As a note for improvement, the app ONLY allows live pictures for returns, NOT pictures from my camera role. Had I been able to upload the previously taken pictures, it would have been a much smoother return process, but because I could only upload LIVE pictures, it was notably more challenging. All-in-all, I don't know that I will rent from U-Haul again because of the trouble, customer service, and high cost.
Jadd MIt was a great experience overall. Only issue was I reserved an appliance dolly and there were no dolly’s at this location that caused more running around on my part to obtain one. The cost was also more. I do understand that a location might not have a dolly, but the website for that location so be built to not let you reserve a dolly when none are actually there.
