First, let me thank Steve for persisting with the software process to get us a contract. Also, thanks to Henry for successfully closing out our contract without additional fees. Regarding the truck: we had to sweep out the cargo area once we got it home. The passenger compartment blower fan didn't work so we drove around cold on a winter day. There was no windshield washer fluid so we couldn't clear the window of dried salt and dirt resulting us being blinded while driving in to the setting sun. Regarding the process: Steve, a new employee, was left alone to set up our contract having had no training on the UHaul software and no written procedure to follow. Neither the senior employee who was off sick nor the Uhaul support rep were available despite several attempts for Steve to contact them. It took about 45 minutes to eventually get a contract issued. When we returned the truck (on time but after hours) I received a text message with a webpage link to begin the return process but the weblink failed. I got another text message but that webpage link failed too. Now frustrated, but familiar with the return process, I took pictures of the dashboard and around the truck and then deposited the key in the return box. It then donned on me to try to use the Uhaul app on my phone instead, which did properly initiate the return process but wouldn't let me upload pictures from my gallery. It would only allow me to take live pics, which I could no longer do for the dashboard having already deposite the key. I gave up and made a special trip back to Steve the next day to sort things out in person, particularly since the contract says there would be administrative charges if I didn't use the online return process. I was assured there would be no extra charges. The system wouldn't allow Steve to close out the contract so Steve got Henry to do it. Definitely there are some management issues, process and training issues, and software glitches to iron out.
