U-Haul did a bait-and-switch, by allowing me to select and reserve a 4x8 trailer at Beverly Hills location, then waiting until the day before my rental, when I had literally NO OTHER OPTIONS, to inform me that Beverly Hills has no such trailers and I have to pick up my trailer from Koreatown (way out of my way). I asked directly and several of your agents were clearly aware that Beverly Hills doesn’t have any 4x8 trailers — yet, your system allows me select a 4x8 trailer at that location!!?? All your agent are aware that Beverly Hills has NO 4x8 trailers. So, I drove all the way to Koreatown and when I asked if I can at least return the trailer to Beverly Hills, where my original pickup was supposed to be, they said that I could for a +$20/day upcharge!!! (The whole trailer was $14.95/day, making it a more than a 2x increase in price, to return the trailer to where I was supposed to pick it up from in the first place.). I am furious that nobody would help resolve this issue, which is clearly deliberate tactic to force people into locations that are out of the way / less popular and possibly upsell them to returning to a more convenient location. I am currently discussing filing a class-action law suit against U-Haul for this obviously deliberate bait-and-switch tactic.

Any chance to get a smile or even a single "good morning" when you come for pick up? The girl in charge of me was really in a bad mood.

Made me wait over 20 mins just to return the truck , even when I was the only one there , told me to wait outside but no one ever came , terrible experience

That mileage sure is a buzzkill. Big huge $19 sign on the truck feeling like it's laughing at me after I walk away with a $99 invoice.

I was there thursday 5/31 evening at 6:45, the customer service rep I worked with said there was no trucks left and they were all reserved for the next morning. I then went online to reserve a truck for the next day and I got a truck reserved with no issues whatsoever. I understand its the end of the month so it is very busy, but for the rep to say there was no trucks available and then having me show up the very next morning when the location opened to see the same rep hand me keys to a truck is pretty ridiculous. This to me is why I would not go back to this location unless I have to. Horrible experience.

After being charged wrongly amd dealing with incompetence from the lancaster situation this manager seemed ok lets see how my refund to my card goes.

Darlin and Rene were both awesome! super easy and fast check in and check out. ive rented Uhaul a few times but this was by far the best experience ever. I used all the cash I had for gas but if I had a few bucks on me, I would have tipped them both.

The location is small to drop off a 10-foot truck and tow dolly. I had to back my car into the street which had flowing traffic. The area is dangerous and the manager at the desk is rude. She needs more customer service skills.

I tried renting a 15’ truck in Santa Monica and the closest location with that size truck was Uhaul of Koreatown. That’s more than 10 miles in LA traffic. That’s disappointing that I have to travel so far to rent my truck.

Would have been nice to know how long the pick up process using your mobile device was going to be ahead of time, since that can take a while. It shortens the amount of time you actually have with the truck. And being exactly four hours from the time you get the keys til the time you drop the truck off, it almost over charged us. Also had a last minute change of pick up location because they said my original PU location would be closed, when I was able to make it online with no problem. Made our experience longer and costly.

The check out lady doesn't acknowledge client. Actually didn't say a word until she read the gas gauge.

Vehicle smelled like cigarettes. I specter ashtray and as thought ashes and cigarette remains. Was charged again a few days later after being charged the correct amount.

The truck I was given had less than 1/4 of a tank of gas. It should not have been rented out with less than 1/2 a tank.

I went to return the cargo van at the scheduled after-hours time and there was absolutely no room on the lot. This required a long customer support call and an extra trip to another location where I could drop off the vehicle.

Female manager/supervisor was excellent. The gentleman who retrieved my trailer was not. He kept stopping to visit with a friend, sitting in a car nearby. I felt as if I was a nuisance rather than a paying customer. It took about 30 minutes to hook up a small motorcycle trailer, and I had backed right up to the hitch. Drop off with him was no better. I was charged an extra day as well. I arrived at 5:05 on Sunday. I guess I just missed the deadline. I’m not complaining about that issue but given the time I waited for him the afternoon before— it seemed odd that I’d be charged for being 5 minutes late. No sense of urgency or polite respect for customers. Again, I felt like I was causing him a problem by just being there and patiently waiting. Supervisor did come out and discipline him at one point. I rent a motorcycle trailer often and have never had this issue at other locations. Thank you Katherine Both

I was initially told the pick-up location would be at the National Blvd site 3 miles from the house where I was moving items from. Then, two days before the move I was told the location was ten miles away from the moving site which was much more inconvenient. Plus there was an additional charge for going over the contract's maximum miles because of this farther pick-up location. This smacks of "bait and switch" tactics and I should be credited for this additional charge since the contract stated a truck would be available at the closer location.
