A clean right-sized van was available on short notice for a student move. It was available when we needed it and the after-hours return using the app was very nice. We hadn't anticipated needing it but when we did, it offered us flexible means of returning the vehicle. The availability of movers through the online reservation system was wonderful. We were able to get professional movers that helped us with same day service with a very difficult move at a substantial discount of those services over the web. We had a great experience!

Right from the beginning of reserving a U-Haul van to returning it back, it is a smooth process. Information is also to the point and very useful. The vehicle was also clean and in great condition. Utility Dolly was really useful. A minor complaint was that it took quite sometime to get the UHaul. In spite of checking in online, I had to wait in line for 15 mins because of the customer in front of me. There should be a kiosk to make it even faster for people who checked in online with all the info. I appreciate the people who work there even in chilly winds.

Great customer service and courtesy despite heavy pressure. Two rentals in the last month and UHaul Lowell is still my first choice.

The vehicle was clean but the wipers didn't clean the windows and we needed them during the snowstorm. Also the rear view mirror was loose.

I received a call from U-Haul customer service the day after my rental asking why the truck had not been returned on time. This was confusing as the truck was returned at 5P the previous day with the keys left in the drop box. I don't understand why I would receive a call about this.

First, when we arrived at uhaul to pick up the truck, the line was extremely long. There were two uhaul workers there but only one was helping customers. Poor customer service. Second, when we got in the car, the gas was actually lower than the amount that was said to be in it. We captured this in a photo. When we returned, we filled it to the amount that was actually in the truck when we left and we showed the gas recipet and the picture to a uhaul employee and they confirmed that we were all set and would not be charged for gas. However, we were charged. I am extremely unhappy and won’t use uhaul again.

The return after hours was chaos. Trucks parked all over the place and along the road. Was lucky to find a spot on the U-Haul lot.

Gas was not full on pick up. Told employee and he just shrugged. He obviously didn't care. I had to replace my gas and the person before me. All three employees were apathetic, dude, or in one case stoned. I will never rent a uhaul truck again.

When return the rental, get it in the system so you don’t get the e-mail saying Not Returned UHaul Equipment when you have already returned in in time. Also when call customer service they send you to equipment recovery and they tell you they will call that location and you should get an email saying them have the equipment, that email never made it to my inbox. Consider making sure all returns make it into your system go forward.

Let me share my experience. I am an Assistant Professor at Umass Lowell. I rented a Uhaul from here for 48 hours to move from Boston to Lowell. I returned it after 36 hours (no problems at all). A week later when I looked at my credit card I had an overage charge of $216. I called to inquire why and they informed me it was for the additional 13 days I kept the rental truck over the original 48 hours. I informed them this was absolutely not the case and they referred me to the manager in order to settle the dispute. 7 days, over 20 phone calls, over 10 messages left with staff at the desk, calls to the national company - no word from the manager and a refusal to engage with me. So I did the only thing I could and went to the credit company to refund me the charge. Now (6 months later) - I have just received an email from their debt collector asking for the $216 I owe. Disgusted and shocked.
