We rented U-Haul because we had a positive experience last time. This time was horrid. We booked for a truck near our location, which got changed to a further location so I was unable to get a ride to the new location. The pick-up time had to be shifted back due to the location being over double the distance from the initial booked location. When we got to the new location, the checking out was done over the phone at a rough gas station and afterward verifying my information they had lost the keys. They looked for half an hour before we were rescheduled for yet another location even farther out. We went to the third location with confusion due to the rescheduled truck being the wrong truck and the handler not knowing we were coming. We received one $50 refund as advertised, but were later charged an additional $80 a month later because we returned the equipment a couple hours late which I believe should have been accounted for due to u-haul changing our pick-up time and location several times. Poor customer service as well, because when I called the second time I could hear the previous operator in the background talking trash because I had been frustrated that we had to be sent to yet another location. I would not recommend U-Haul for my area.
