Customer Reviews

Frank helped us out with our truck, he was super friendly and fast with our checkin/checkout process! He was clear on the instructions, and a pleasure to talk with. If you're renting at this location, Frank is the man!

I have received a call at 8pm on Friday (right when the office is closing) that went to the voicemail stating that my reservation for the next morning 10am will only be available at 2:30pm. This is not the way to conduct business with people who are moving and made arrangements with movers.

Easy to rent, very convenient to drop off even after hours. 8-10pm no problem.

I always go to this location in Mt. View. The people who have helped me there are friendly and efficient.

I completed the registration online but it asked me the same things at pickup.

Yes luv this location.. very nice and helpful!

Have used this site many times, always gret service

Using the website to pick up and drop off the van was EXCELLENT. I was really impressed with the technology push that u haul has made for this part of the experience. I think there are some other ways to improve it more to make adoption and use easier: Make the text bigger. I can imagine someone with worse eyesight may not see the text (also trim down the instructions to make it less wordy). Show an example of each image to take or show examples of multiple photos to upload. I couldn't get the odometer and gas tank in one photo and it took a second to read the fine print. Have a progress bar at the top (for ex. You are on step 3 of 6 of whatever). Lastly, give some iPads to the sales staff so that if someone is unsure how to use the app on their smartphone, then a staff member can go through the process with them.

OK equipment. Really bad attitude.

The van was parked very close to the next one. Hard to get in, had to slide in from passenger side

I drove 50 miles, bill showed 61. Please show mileage pic during vehicle reservation

At pickup the truck had items that were not in my reservation. I spoke with two agents about correcting my contract. At drop-off, these items had not been removed from my contract so the drop-off agent wanted to know where they were. Poor preparation. Poor coordination. Wasted my time at drop-off. The truck was clean but was an old clunker with > 100K miles on it. Very poor running condition. I was concerned it would breakdown during the rental.

The person working there was not happy to be there. FRANK was angry and disrespectful.

Srinivas K.

Desk is really helpful, guided on how to change gears on new vechile.

The trucks gas indicator wasn't working correctly. It shows 3/4 even on full tank. I didn't know how much fuel I was filling until I hit full tank. I think I filled it way more than I got it out on.

Had reserved an 8x5 trailer in Santa Cruz; when I went to pick it up, they did not have it. Had to go to Mountain View to get the trailer I needed. Mt View crew was great. I-Haul blew it with my reservation—apparently did not assign me a location. Very stressful and a real hassle.

Tyler R.

Really appreciate the online check in and vehicle return... made it really easy!

David H.

I asked for a newer cargo van but was denied, even though there were 30+ newer vans in the lot.

Simon S.

Not enough customer parking, everything else was great

Very slow customer service. Very long lines. Received a filthy vehicle. Dent mark decals weren't kept up to date causing me to spend 30 minutes documenting the entire vehicle before taking the van off the lot.

Mohammadreza S.

Absolute worst U-Haul experience ever, run away from this branch and save yourself some trouble, after 20 minute waiting to get a truck ( with an online reservation!), they told us they didn't have the 15-inch vehicle that we had reserved ( so much for guaranteeing availability!!) and talked us into getting the smaller size! This caused Sooooo much TROUBLE and doubled our moving COST because we ended up needing to load/unload twice and paid more to our helpers and got charged for twice the mileage! The moving blankets ( which again, they talked us into getting a dozen instead of our ask for two dozen) were obviously not clean with debris from prior use visibly stuck in them, run away, if not to Penske at least to another branch, dealing with these guys is the last thing you need on your move day!

Margaret R.

I always appreciate the friendliness and knowledge these gentlemen have about moving and not overbuying materials. They are honest about what you really need for any given job and always helpful and kind.

Great service

the app did no work, staff mask were not fully covered return the van was a debacle, a better format would be to drop the key in a box and email the receipt to customer

Worst customer service I have had in a long time. And I own restaurants so I know that customer service is very, very important. I will not go back here again, and will only use the U-Haul in Redwood City when I need to rent trucks or trailers in the future. Never going back to Mountain View. Get a new staff and new credit card processors, it might help.
