I am writing to dispute the additional charges on my recent U-Haul rental, as I believe they were applied in error. * Fuel charge: The truck was returned with a full tank of gas. I have a time-stamped photo taken at drop-off clearly showing the fuel gauge, mileage, and the condition of the vehicle. * Incorrect drop-off charge: The truck was returned to the same designated U-Haul location as instructed in my rental agreement. Based on this information, I respectfully request a review of my rental and the removal of these incorrect charges. I am happy to provide the photos as supporting documentation. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Shirley PLocation seems a but understaffed during demand time. The very nice, helpful and competed lady working there, named Dawn was working alone. On a slow day this might not be a problem. However, I got there 10 mins before my pickup time, and there were already 2 other people waiting for pickup that had been waiting 15 mins or more as per what they told me. Dawn herself was very fast but also dealing with vehicle return check-ins simultaneously with other folks waiting to check-in and pick up their rentals. It was strange to be waiting in a tiny counter area, maybe 10ft long and 3ft wide, with 8 other humans, and nobody at the counter for 10 mins at a time. My pickup time was 2PM, by the time I was in the vehicle to drive off, it was 2:39PM. Vehicle itself was fine and served it's purpose, but the 8-cylynder engine in the 10ft truck was a gas guzzler compared to my 4-cylinder car. I went 28 miles round trip, and to refill the gas to a little more than when I picked it up took 5.75 gallons for a cost of $20, so anyone reading this should factor in the fuel cost. The delays and waiting were not Dawn's fault at all, as she was very efficient and courteous to everyone and spoke with kindness, which I appreciate. Also this location had tons of very large potholes in the mostly gravel driveway and mostly gravel parking lot, some 4-5 inches deep and over 1ft wide, and it was raining all day, so there were lots of deep puddles, and driving both in and out of this location felt like I was navigating a minefield in order to avoid wheel and tire damage. This location could hire more staff during peek times (weekends) and also do with repair or resurfacing of their driveway and parking areas. Other than these suggestions, I am pleased with this rental.
Adam LThe truck provided was in poor condition. It appears to be nearly 15 years old, the door can only stay closed with a clamp, the sunshade is broken, and the wheel alignment is noticeably off, which affects driving safety. The driveway at the location also has many potholes, making pickup and return difficult.
