I chose in-person check-in and was surprised the facility had to rely on my mobile phone for completing ID verification. What if my phone was dead? What if my phone was an old flip phone? If either of those were true, my moving plans would had to have been cancelled and that was concerning considering how crucial moving that day was. A uhaul authorized service center should be able to provide full check-in service without their business relying on my technology.

Include specific, turn by turn instructions from the shopping center to the area where U-Haul rental equipment is parked. IOW, the address leads to the office (good enough), but not to the rental truck parking area.
KENNETH BThis was the worst experience with U-haul I've ever had. I have rented several vehicles with U-haul in the past. I've always gone to an actual U-haul location & had a great experience. This time U-haul called me & said my requested store didn't have the truck size I requested to I would pick it up at a different location. This was a Postal Annex, mailbox store. I had placed my reservation online & requested 2 wardrobe boxes for $10 each & was told by the representative on the phone that I could get more when I picked up the truck. I also requested the standard 2 dozen moving blankets. This guy said he had 3 wardrobe boxes and 6 blankets. I said that I had placed the order & requested more & he just said that's all I've got. He literally said that's U-haul's fault. The wardrobe boxes he had I had to purchase for $25 each, so now I have the huge boxes that I don't need, instead of in the past where I rented them for $10 & didn't have to deal with them afterwards. The 6 blankets he gave me were ratty & had holes in them so not very effective for wrapping furniture. All around the worst experience in renting a truck ever. I would recommend someone avoid this place!
