The agent in Vallejo initialed my agreement because the fuel was 1/8th of a tank (at most) but the agreement said 1/4 tank. Then I was charged ~ $20 for the gas and I am unable to get a reply from the agent/manager in the Sunnyvale location who charged me (even though I showed him the contract that the other agent signed).

Truck was dirty, needed washed and inside cleaned out. Too many vehicles on the property, many were parked in. Not enough employees on staff to handle customer demand.

1. Would only recommend as a last resort. 2. Manager and staff at pick up location were very good - no concern with them. 3. The centralized service contact with no apparent option for direct communication with pick up location is a bad process. Knowledgeable response/resolution of customer questions and issues is extremely inefficient and creates unreasonable delays. Also results in a burden for your staff trying to fix a problem generated by a call center representative. 4. Vehicle availability is a real plus. Cost however is not. Your competitors offer various discount programs not available from U-Haul. Had they been able to provide a vehicle (short notice - trucks not on hand for required date), I would have rented the same size/capacity truck from them for 20% less - as I have done on 3 separate occasions in the past.

The app could be improved to allow posting relevant info AFTER the dropoff eg photos of the milesge and gas level. The app only lets you take a picture and if one has already dropped off the key- cannot proceed with online return. Thanks

The overall experience with U-Haul was good except with the person who helped us while picking up the vehicle. When I booked a U-Haul for the first time from the same location, I was explained everything in detail including the insurance plan. I arrived at the location early (9:50 AM on July 3rd 2018) while I had a booking time of 10 AM. When processing my request, the person who helped me was in so much hurry and seemed frustrated with something, that he ended up stating 2-3 times to hurry (while the time was still 9:58) as some other customer was standing. He was least interested in talking and turned a deaf ear to the questions I had as if he didn't hear anything. Please try to keep communicative people on the front desk to help. I'd definitely book my next U-Haul from a different location.

Hi, To whomsoever it may concern My U-Haul Contract 89821815. I booked a 15’ truck from Belmont to Folsom drop-off for 1 st July18. On 30th June got a call that the truck is not available in Belmont instead it is available in Sunnyvale which was 20 plus miles away from my place .My place of residence is close to Belmont, but agreed to pick up. I was running late by 30 minutes as it was traffic and Uber delayed. A person called from Sunnyvale said since I was not there at 10 am the appointment is cancelled. I told I have prebooked it days before with giving my debit card details. He was so rude, frustrated and asked me to call the customer service. I was already on the way to Sunnyvale, so went there. When I inquired they said that the person who had to return didn’t return and didn’t pickup his or the manager’s call. I asked in what way I am concerned, why they should be so rude. Then they said we will cancel and give a $50/- credit. Mean while your customer service line was so busy one call got disconnected after 20 minutes waiting time. I called again and got connected after 30 minutes – I have a photo of the total on line screen shot which was 45 minutes. The person confirmed that there is one more truck in redwood city which is again 18 miles, already spent $65 for my UBER earlier. I said it is ridiculous, asked whether someone could drop me, the answer was NO. I asked to book it with no no choice and booked a cab to redwood city. When the cab arrived gentleman named CASSE came to my and said they just received the truck and can give them with a new reservation as a WALK IN. I cancelled mt cab and received the truck by 1:15 pm. For Three hours I was dilli dalling here and there and there was no one to help out. Was so Depressing as that was the last day of my Apartmentlease having my family stuff all packed. This so Disappointing, upset as I was a regular customer for U haul for a long time. They didn’t give me any $50/- credit as promised instead me spending a lot of money, my valuable time. Is this the way how to treat a customer? Why do you ask for review as you are already low in staff who are disorganized and not knowing how to handle a customer even though Uhaul at fault. Please Train your Staff , teach them to handle the situation without hurting customer. And finally give at least a minimum thought what you call it as as CUSTOMER SERVICE. Narendar

The van was in good condition, but the line to pick up the van was super long. Mobile check in didn't speed things along as we still had to wait in line to pick up the van. Got there at 10am to rent the van for 4 hours until 2pm, but because of the line we didn't get the car until after 10:30 and didn't leave the lot until 10:50 because we had to find parking elsewhere and didn't know we weren't allowed to park there. The representative who helped us still insisted we bring the van back by 2pm, so I essentially paid for a 4-hour rental and only got the van for 3 hours.

Pls review your workflow...I waited for 55 mins to get service, in spite of making a reservation a day earlier. Clearly you have an issue with managing workload with speed. You need to engage some experts to help you manage this, you could benchmark a car rental company to get insights. This workflow issue cause customer centricity problems with your staff, they become grumpy and cannot even smile an welcome guests well.

The customer service I received was friendly, courteous and efficient. However, the wait was 1.5 hours in line, causing delay with my scheduled movers, essentially paying them to stand around. There needed to be more people working at this location. Since there is no where else to go to rent a truck after having more than a week advance notice, we were stuck waiting.

I was not given the correct time of closing. Farrah, Will told me that the closing hour was 8PM. I returned vehicle at 7:15PM and was told abruptly & very rudely, "We're closed" by Amanda and someone who identified himself as the Assistant Mgr. No name given per my request. I am a professional, and I am always respectful & thoughtful to others. The staff here in Sunnyvale needs some lessons in good communication skills and manners. I filled the gas up to the level I was shown and actually above that level. The start time was recorded inaccurately; overcharged. I will not recommend U-Haul based on my most unpleasant experience. Customer Service is most deficient.

The lines are long, because this place is quite understaffed. Other locations have people on the desk just doing paper work and other people do vehicle handover. Here the same guy does paperwork, goes pulls out the vehicle and does a check.
