The appliance dolly I reserved was not available with my “guaranteed or $50 back” rental. I was forced to settle for a hand dolly that could not handle an antique piece of furniture I specifically wanted the dolly for and I was forced to abandon the piece of furniture belonging to my late mother. Not happy everything I reserved with my “guaranteed” reservation was not available.
Tyler SThe folks were amazing kind people but the truck's transmission was slipping bad and resulted in us having to keep the truck longer than wanted to and wasted so much time. I did call U Haul and let them know. I also let the gas station know and he was kind enough to allow me to use the dolly a few more hours since we had issues with the truck. I would absolutely use them again if I need u haul.
Cheyenne GThe owner of a the convenience store where I picked up at was rude from the beginning. She refused to get off of a personal cell call to assist me. There was no parking on the premises at all. I was picking up a box truck for a couple of hours and needed to leave my truck while I was using the box truck. She wouldn’t let me park anywhere on the premises and was willing to let me walk away. After a little graveling on my part she finally said that I could have the reserved spot next to her car. On the drop off I chose to fill the truck up at the same convenience store that I picked up at. The truck had 7/16ths of a tank (121 miles to empty) and I drove 90 miles I put 12 gallons, back in bringing the fuel capacity to (161 to empty)then I parked it in the exact same spot that picked it up in. After parking the truck I took the keys in, keep in mind I had a 24 hr rental and dropped it back off after 4 hours. I asked now the male owner for a receipt and I was told that it would be auto emailed. They didn’t check the truck back in with Uhual until the next day at the time it was due back leaving me liable for that truck overnight, luckily nothing happened to it. I asked for a paper receipt and was told no. They didn’t care to go out and check on the returned truck while I was there, they intentionally waited for me to leave. When I received the email containing the drop off info and the receipt I noticed that the very same people that I bought it the gas from at the return decided to commit fraud by lying about the fuel levels. I had proof tho, I bought gas from the very people that tried to steal from me. I did take my case to the area manager, which he was reluctantly helpful. He checked his computer and I’m sure pulled the GPS data telling all. He agreed to give me my $18.80 back to which I appreciate. I expect that this will get buried beings that it was only $18.80. But there’s was multiple levels of fraud that n the owners part. I 100% feel that I’m not the only one that they did this to. I think that they have a theft scheme going on and U-Haul doesn’t care. I turned this location into the state to investigate. I work in corp America and we understand the importance of branding. This location is a representing U-haul in a bad way. In conclusion $18.80 become a matter of principle for me. I have money so $18.80 doesn’t hurt me like it does someone else that living paycheck to paycheck. It’s disappointing no knowing that my complaint ended with the area manager giving me my money back acting as tho it was a personal favor to me. So action should be taken and I personally think that this location should lose the heir franchise agreement. I will using another rental service next time
