I arrived 2 hours early after driving 600 miles and they weren't happy. Spoke with the U-Haul online rep after the originally reserved trailer was not available at a different local location and all was good if I showed up early as that was 'better' according to them. When filling out the paperwork and check in process I was told that the text from U-Haul to complete the trailer conditions was not important and that I did not need to do it. My concern was clearly explained during this process to the staff that I wanted to do an inspection before I left. As an insurance appraiser I wanted to do perform this inspection before I left to make certain that I was not charged for something I did not do. The trailer was parked behind a water hole that was 4" deep at my vehicle when connecting to it so I could not get out of the vehicle to inspect it after they connected it. I pulled over to the dry area of their property and the 2 individuals had already walked inside despite making them aware that I would like to inspect the trailer before I left the property. After arriving at my local destination I did the full inspection. I learned this was a 2012 unit by reading the VIN. All 4 tires were about 5psi low. The brake fluid level was good. 3 of the 4 tires were 50% or less on tread with a 4 year old date code on them. The trailer was also rusty on the non-galvanized parts. I seldom do reviews. This was a disappointing experience as I have U-Hauled many times, but I felt like this was riding on a hope and a prayer on this trip. Happy I paid for the extra insurance up front in case of a failure. Just providing a real world experience from someone who tows frequently.

ROBERT WWe did night drop off so didn't actually talk to any of the personnel. Therefore, I did not want to rate that question but your form will not let me submit without it. So I will say yes even though I didn't actually interact with anyone. Appreciate the night drop off since they don't open until 9:00 AM and truck needed to be returned by 10:30. I had conflicts with the late morning opening requiring me to be there between 9:00-10:30, therefore I greatly appreciated being able to drop it off the evening before. Thank you! Overall it was a great experiende.
