We were charged a fuel surcharge of $30 and for 4 gallons of gas ($18.90) for the 1 mile that the truck traveled from the pick up and back to the drop off location. We were verbally told the truck had to be returned with the same amount of gas as when we picked it up and we did. We have pictures with date and time stamps for proof. Is it U-Haul’s practice to charge a costly amount for fuel when the receipt shows the mileage for our rental of ONE MILE? Thankfully I paid attention to the cost breakdown on the receipt. We will be disputing the fuel charge. Very disappointed in U-Haul.
