There were several issues. First of all, the day before our rental (which we had reserved a month in advance) we were switched from our local UHaul to one close to 10 miles away. This added to the length of the day and our mileage (which we then got charged for). The Uhaul where we picked up was unmanned, and it took us several tries to get the lock to work to get at the keys. The van was completely surrounded by ice and my husband fell down hard as he was trying to climb into the drivers seat. The trucks should really be parked in an area that has been de-iced. The truck itself was fine, clean on the inside and there were no issues driving it.

I am writing to formally dispute the charge of $89.75 associated with the truck rental referenced above. Upon arriving to pick up the assigned vehicle, I found that there was no lock box present and the truck was unlocked with no key available. As a result, I was unable to take possession of or use the vehicle. I made a good-faith effort to contact U-Haul customer support at that time, but the issue was not resolved. Despite my inability to access or operate the truck, I was subsequently charged. It appears the vehicle may have been used by another party and returned without refueling, yet those associated fees have been improperly attributed to me. I did not drive, use, or benefit from the vehicle in any capacity. Given these facts, the charge is unwarranted. I respectfully demand a full refund of $89.75. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I reserve all rights to pursue further action, including disputing the charge through my financial institution and seeking any remedies available to me. I expect your prompt attention to this matter.
GOKER GCheck-in and out via the app was complicated. I had to take and retake multiple pictures multiple times. Live chat was not helpful. They asked for someone else’s phone number to verify me and that number was never called. After all that it cost more than $100. So much for the 19.95 advertised on the side of the vehicle.
