U-Haul’s process has made it the customer’s responsibility to “check the boxes” rather than the retailer all while increasing prices as well. As a customer it is not my responsibility to do a safety check of U-Haul’s equipment prior to my rental. It is the retailer’s responsibility to ensure proper working equipment. Its is also the retailers responsibility to input customer data that is not requested at the time of reservation. If the customer is required to do the retailers job then what is the point of paying to rent? If I, as a customer, am responsible for what the retailer should be held accountable for shouldn’t I charge for my time? This is something that needs to be taken into consideration across the board from the U-Haul brand as a whole. Time is money and if U-Haul is going to waste my time they will not be receiving anymore of my money. I’ll gladly take my business to Penske.

U-Haul app on my phone did not work with the U-Haul iPad in the retailer store. I assumed that the U-Haul app was communicating with the retailers iPad. The check in and check out was not as fast as I thought it would be.
David KEmployee would not help at all. She didn't check my brake lights or turn signals. She didn't help lift the trailer on the SUV. It took 45 minutes for her to complete the transaction because she didn't know what she was doing and kept letting other customers cut in front of me. Similar when I dropped it off. My back was out from moving and a customer offered to help me. Also two of the three trailers had a bad electrical connector. I honestly think I should be reimbursed somehow!
Thomas BThe picking up process was a little hectic because me or the lady working had never done this exact purchase/ sale before, but she was very nice and we got it figured out. Having the app already on my phone helped a ton, I had already completed 90%of the steps before I arrived. Overall had a good experience.
