When I went to pick up the trailer there was nobody there to help me put it on my SUV. I'm an older woman by myself and I had no idea that no one would be there to help me. Although the lady was extremely nice and helpful she had to call her husband to come help put the trailer on my SUV which took quite a while and when you're moving you don't have a lot of time. We were never told we could not switch cars because when we started driving the SUV with the trailer, it did not feel right so we switched it to a truck. What a horrible experience we had.. we could not pick the trailer up and put it on the truck.. it took us over an hour and we had to use a jack to get it up. I've used U-Hauls for many many years and I've never had such a problem. So after over an hour of trying to get it on the truck..the trailer lights would not work so we're driving to Nevada and we got pulled over by the police and he instructed us we had to use our flashers because we were in the middle of nowhere and it was the middle of the night. The whole trip was full of anxiety that someone would hit us. We are going to be renting another U-Haul in about three weeks and we are extremely worried that these issues may exist again. In addition... we had to put some of our stuff in storage. We were told the storage had 24 hour access. Because we were busy with the trailer and all the time it took to get it going. We went back to the storage to retrieve some of the things out of the storage for the trip and they were closing, we were told that the 24 hour access has been broken for 3 weeks! Nobody told us that when we reserved the storage. I reserved a trailer for 05/20/17 just in case we didnt have room in our cars to take the remainer of our things. After packing our home we had plenty of room in the trailer to not have to rent another one on the 20th, but it was after 7pm and we couldn't get in. Every part of my move was planed and because of the problems with Uhaul I have to rent another trailer an spent more money. This is not ok. Uhaul is supposed to help make it easy to move. Instead they cost me time and money.

This was my first experience with renting a uhaul trailer. The location surprised me; it was a gas station and uhaul rental location combined. The lady who helped me was very friendly, but since this was my first time towing a trailer, my ball hitch was too large and I didn't have the right electrical connection (mine was a 7 way for a trailer cable). The gas station didn't have anything I needed and I ended up having to make a trip to Walmart and Home Depot just so I could use this trailer. Overall dissatisfied with the location meeting my needs, but the trailer itself did the job and that was a good thing.

The attendant stated that the trailer was out there and I could hook it up by myself. Luckily I have hooked up many trailers in the past. Had I been a woman or an older person I would have had to go elsewhere. They also did not have a plug that would allow me to hook up the lights. the attendant stated that they are a gas station and a U-Haul combination and did not have all of the allotted parts. I then had to go to another U-Haul dealer to get the part I needed to hook up the lights. Poor service at best.

Gas gauge broken, agent puts "1/4" full on contract, tells me to put $10-15 and then he will refund me but won't refund me any gas as gas gauge on Empty when I returned although gauge was Empty to begin with and never worked. Now getting runaround about getting a refund between UHaul and Chevron station where I rented the truck

First we got confirmation to pick up at a different location, which did not have any trailer available and we had to wait 30 min to be told we had to go to another location which was 8 miles the opposite direction of our travel to Ca. Right at the worst traffic hour, then when we got to the pickup location it's a small Mom and pop gas station which serves the gas customers before the uhaul customers, so again another 30 min wait and the poor clerk was holding a baby girl and couldn't tend to the task at hand, so we waited again patiently and finally we got the contract section done but she was too busy to give us a printed receipt. So that was not appreciated leaving my credit card without a printed cost to accept. And then when we asked her who will help us hook it up she said I don't know how but hopefully my husband will be here soon so again we had to wait for him to arrive and get it hooked up... I have used you many times but this was the worst and makes me not want to use uhaul any more, I took the time to set up a pick up and your people over booked unconvincing me , and having to go to this gas station is just bad customer relations .... and having to pay this amount as a (4) -day rental when we only used (2) is just not what I call good relations, coupled with the poor customer service and no apologies when we had to go out of our way to locate the trailer from the person on the phone who I explained we were headed to Ca and sends us the opposite direction of travel after already being unconvinced . "Not a Happy Customer" to be frank .....

We drove several miles and decided to get gas, as the tank was less than one-third full when we picked it up. As my son pumped has, someone ran over to him and told him there was a river of gas forming in the ground under the truck. We pulled the truck to a nearby empty lot and called our rental place. After waiting for her to go through the chain of command we were told to wait and that someone might meet us to drop off a replacement truck. As we were burning daylight sitting and waiting, we called to check on the status of new vehicle. We were then told to drive it to a location that was about six miles away and they would give us another truck. After we got to the new location, we waited and waited to then hear that they would not give us another truck, but that we had to wait for roadside assistance to help us out. I flipped out and demanded help on he spot (I needed to drive to another town to pick up all of my belongings in two different locations, and we had already wasted 2.5 hours dealing with this defective, dangerous vehicle and they wanted us to continue waiting for the same vehicle to be repaired - I had hired both of my sons to help out on this day and we would not be able to all do it ageism for quite a while. After I unleashed my extreme anger over this lack of concern for not only our time, but also our well-being, I demanded that they give us another truck. After numerous additional phone calls, we were finally given another truck. Because we had wasted three hours in this process, I was only able to visit one of the locations. Half of my possessions are still lingering in another town until we can all do this again. U-Haul refused to give me a free replacement day (including mileage) so this entire experience will now cost twice as much as previously planned (and it wan't cheap to begin with. Insanely disappointed with U-Haul and telling everybody I know this horror story. Not a happy customer, to say the least.

I am not going to write my entire complaint again. I will leave this with, when I called to complain, I gave the details. I was told the manager would call me back. Good thing I didn't hold my breath as he STILL has not contacted me back and at this point, I have no interest in talking to anyone. That store is a debacle



Right side lights not working

This location should be shutdown. Not at all happy with the person running this franchise for U-Haul. We requested an 8 am pickup and he did not show up until 8:30 am. We paid the fee and signed all the documents and went out to the truck only to find that the gas tank read E for empty. Went back in and asked why the tank was empty and he told us there was enough gas in the truck to get us a few blocks from there to get it filled. Well when we returned the truck to Barretts in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, we were told the truck must be returned with at least a quarter of a tank of gas. We are irate. Never thought U Haul would pull such a stunt.
