Slow, slow, slow service.....it took forever to check in even with a reservation, and forever to return truck that same day. Don't know why .....several people standing in line...... 25 minute wait at both ends of rental transaction

I have always had luck with Uhaul, and always recommend them to peers. This was my first time using the Auburn Location and I had the worst experience. Upon showing up there was one person working and a huge line of people. That's not his fault, and he was doing his best to handle it all, but certainly taking it out on the customers. When it was our turn to sit he was swearing at the computer and getting frustrated that the one we rented wasn't showing up. Then he told us to just take a different truck than our contract said and he would fix it later. He did not want to discuss pricing concerns we had. He told us the fuel would be different than the paper we signed since it was a different vehicle. He said we should call to discuss the pricing since we made the reservation over the phone and he wouldn't have time to discuss it because of the line of people. When we got in the truck it had advertising stuff inside it and on the dash, and we had to take it all down and fold it up so we could use the truck. It was also covered in mud all over the inside. The steering wheel was disgusting. First thing we did when we turned it on was take a picture of the dash with the fuel and miles, so we could remember to keep track of our miles. Then, once we go going, we called in to ask about the rate since it wasn't the way we wanted. We had the impression we were doing a fixed rate up to 40 miles and then a different per mile rate. So we just wanted to discuss it. The person put us on hold a few times and then told us there was nothing she could do since we had already been "dispatched." So we asked to speak to a manager. He was more helpful, however he told us a general manager would call us within 48 hours and no one has yet. This was disappointing because after such bad customer service, such bad product experience, you'd think someone would want to reach out. It's not like we were asking for something free. We just wanted to discuss our options. When we get back after using the vehicle, the same guy is there, now with a second person, and he is fuming. He is yelling and screaming and throwing keys around. WHen we pulled in we had to pull to the side because another uhaul was RIGHT in the entrance. As we are in line he's outwardly complaining about the "idiots who couldnt pull all the way in" and throwing keys trying to find the set that belonged to it. The set was ours so we had it. That was embarassing and unkind. Then he tells us we had half a tank when we started, when in fact we absolutely did not and the first picture we took proved that. We returned it with MORE gas than we started with. He told us we were wrong and that the picture didn't matter because it wasn't the right mileage. Well, of course it didn't match the milage the paper said, because the paper didn't reflect the actual keys he gave us, which he decided to do in the first place. The whole thing ended up costing us so much money and the experience was painful.

Location is convenient for me. The trailer was old and a bit rusty, tires were ok but should be replaced. The service was less than adequate, I asked about insurance and they could not explain what was covered so I did not purchase insurance, which could of been beneficial to me.

They did not seem well staffed for expected reservations. I had called by phone to confirm online reservation and uhaul plus blanets and mattress bags were not ready on arrival. Truck was buried in snow. Had not snowed for a week.

The store was packed and there were only two people working. One of which kept coming in and out wandering around instead of helping the line of customers. When he finally decided to start help customers (after about 20 minutes) he couldn't find the trailer I reserved on the lot and wandered around looking for it. The other guy came out and I finally pointed to the only one NOT buried in snow and asked if I could just take that one. He was completely confused then decided yes and hooked it to our car. Then I had to go back in change the whole reservation which wouldn't have been a problem if he was even slightly efficient. We spent over an hour there just trying to pick up a trailer because 1. There was not enough staff to help the number of guest. 2. The staff that was their was NOT efficient in the least (slow and confused almost as if hungover). 3. The equipment I reserved was not accessible because the lot is a clustered mess.

The wait was a little longer than I would have liked. Had to wait till the prior customer was served. Would have been nice if there were more than one person working.

The drivers mirror was lose and kept swigging wide when trying to back up or after hitting a bump in the road. I had to continually readjust the mirror every few feet down the road or while trying to back the truck up. I didn't use near the twenty two miles estimated, I only used roughly twelve but was charged for the full twenty two miles. Doesn't seem fair to be charged for miles I didn't drive. I was told the location would be open until eight pm and when I returned the truck at 5 pm they building was closed. When I spoke to the two people who had been there in the morning when I picked up, one of which was the one who told me eight pm swore he never made that statement. My girlfriend and I both heard him because she asked him what time the closed and he had gone on about it being the only day of the week they were open that late. I have rented from this location before without a single issue but this time it was very disconcerting to have so many things go wrong.
