The pick up process was horrible. Your app / website are not well designed to be able to access the keys in that box without the help of a human. I had to call customer service and they were on the phone with me for 45 minutes walking me through step-by-step. The van and the box were in a pitch black location. Almost tripped and fell multiple times. Oh, and I was disconnected 3 times before getting a customer service person on the phone. Once I did, that person was very nice and extremely helpful and patient with me.

No UHaul employees onsite. Was informed that I had to download the UHaul App, then sign in, then I find my reservation. The app wants lots of information, the layout of the app is clunky. I have to take pictures of myself, plus all four sides of the vehicle, provide names and phone numbers of people who know me to verify I am who I say I am. It was me doing the work - and being insulted besides, and intrusive to my friends. This is NOT the fault of the woman who runs the furniture store which is really at the address given as a Uhaul location. In short, the process was lengthy, unexpected, demanding, unpaid labor on my part. Terrible! Oh, and they didn’t provide the blankets I requested, nor could I get any other equipment at pickup time. It just sucked from beginning to end. I did talk to the “manager” who was at his daughter’s soccer game - because the app failed to give me a rental agreement (he did send me one). Then nobody to ask about the tailer indicator light on the dashboard… And what do I do about tolls on the Throggs Neck Bridge? Nobody to ask… so I just drove through them.
jeff cNo customer support. We had to pick up the trailer in a different location the following day to find out that the wiring for the trailer lights through the truck did not work. This altered our entire trip less than 24 hours before our departure and tried our plans. Very disappointed in UHaul for not having working equipment or an alternate truck for us to use. When we picked up the trailer in Coram, the manage said it was not his responsibility, not his problem. Then who’s is it? no one answered the 1-800 number at UHaul for over an hour, finally had someone pick up only to be put on hold again. This happened repeatedly over 3 hours, I still have not been able to contact anyone from customer service.
Kimberly MThe key wasn’t available at the box the location wasn’t open and the checkout took a long time. The interior was dirty. Also the seatbelt buckle holder was broken. However, truck drove fine.
