Was told I would be able to get keys to vehicle by using the Uhaul app. Didn't work.Location was closed, called phone # no answer and couldn't leave a message because mailbox was full. Spent 1 hour on the phone with a representative from Uhaul trying to access the keys through Uhaul.com. Kept getting error message. Finally got vehicle more than one hour late. Terrible experience with Uhaul in general.

The location wasn't what I requested making it quite difficult given where the truck had to go for my move. When I requested a change I was passed through 8 service people and on hold over the course of over an hour. Very poor customer service at Uhaul (not the pitkin location).

Clearly mark uhaul affiliates from actual uhual locations so that customers aren't duped into using an affiliate location where Uhaul has basically no jurisdiction. Even though I was dropping off my vehicle on time (in fact early) during business hours the attendant was not there. I checked the entire space and there were two other customers waiting for the same attendant. After speaking with customer service and waiting at the location for an hour I was told to drop my keys and contract in the drop box because the attendant was not there and no one could get in touch with him. There were no damages to the vehicle and I took photos of the vehicle along with the miles driven, gas tank, and contract before I left since again the attendant was not there. I expected a call that evening or the next day to let me know if there were any additional charges since I did go over in the allowed mileage ($.40 p/ mile). Three days later I receive a charge for an additional $249 and I also received an email with an "accident report" that contained no information regarding the supposed accident or damage. After calling customer service I was told that "this is just an affiliate store" so CS is not able to see the accident report or speak to why it was so sparsely filled out or why the attendant was not there in the first place on Monday. I was then contacted by the location manager Brian who told me that there was slight damage to passenger side and that the attendant was at the location but in the back of the store on Monday. This location is a storage container and since I spent over an hour there I know that this assertion is 100% false. After sending photos as well as having the manager review the video footage from the store I was issued a full refund for the additional charges. While I sincerely appreciate this gesture I am concerned that this is part of a larger insurance fraud scheme and I want to make Uhaul aware of this. I am curious how many other "accidents" are reported by this location with barely filled out report. Had I not taken photos of the vehicle I would have been charged for an accident that was described as "Cannot contact customer". Why would they need to contact me to describe the supposed damage of a vehicle that is in front of the person filling out the report? I find it very disturbing that Uhaul does not have records for its affliates and yet allows them to charge customers that paid for the coverage insurance without even a description of the accident or damage.

The Uhaul was in horrible condition. The rear view mirrors were in horrible condition and would move every time the truck hit a bump. I had to dangerously pull over twice on the highway to fix. The last time I pulled over I decided to tape the mirrors in the middle of a interstate highway. Completely dangerous thanks to Uhaul. Never using the service again.

The Self Service was very easy and intuitive and made what could have been a stressful operation that much more smooth. The man helping me (I believe David or Brian? I forget) was helpful and communicative throughout the process (from online rental to pickup).

No employee was there. Said they opened at 12pm and I came at 9:30am. I was doing my self check in and it told me to go into their office and show them my check in code but it wasn't open. Called their number and no one picked up. I called the field manager and he had to come from their main offices with a spare key just because this location didnt get their act together. On his was over he called the handler at the location and couldn't secure a response from them the entire time. They called me later that day in the afternoon and said that they had an employee there the entire time. That was BS. The neighbors for the uhaul rental place even told me that they hadn't seen anyone. I walked around their store for 2 hours looking for an employee and there was absolutely NOBODY. They called me a few days later blaming me and the field manager for "not calling them or their employee". We literally called them the ENTIRE time. NOBODY picked up. I stared my self pick up at 9:25am and I ended up FINALLY getting the rental at about 11am and it was only because somebody from the main office had to head over.

First, you could have someone in the office at the time pick up is scheduled. Second, you might have the person on the phone be polite and not contradict and condescend me. When I told the woman on the phone that no one was in the office, she yelled "He's there, he's there. You gotta go in!" I was standing in front of a locked glass door of the U-Haul "office" (a steel shipping container surrounded with barbed wire-out of some dystopian hell) peering into the 4 square foot office. No lights, nobody there... I was hung up on twice in disdain. I waited 10 long minutes there on Pitkin Avenue when finally a disinterested man appeared and let me in, sans apology. My pick-up was in the middle of the afternoon, at one o'clock. I had the decency to arrive 5 minutes early and didn't see anyone for 15 minutes... a full 10 after I made my first call. Employee on the phone was the worst-absolutely angry at me, as if I were lying to her, and talking to me as if I were an idiot. I will never use this location again, and will avoid UHaul if it is at all possible in the future.
